What strikes me is that a lot of modest shops are LDS or Jewish... not that I mind (not at all), but I'm just curious why no-one else, no-one Catholic, is jumping in this gap?

The site that comes from has some neat ways to tie a scarf on your head :) I would like to try that someday I think... Just for kicks...

The dutch crown looks pretty classy, but I like the bun one and the 'butterfly' :)

This might be a option for ModBe... you can shop online and they have some pretty cool things for sale... You can also become a fashion consultant through them just like ModBe :)

ok, maybe its just me, but most of these modesty websites have HIDEOUS clothing. some of the ones you've posted are cute, but browsing through google searches for modest clothing yielded pages of UGLY UGLY clothes.

modesty does NOT equal frumpy and paisley print.

For a girl my age, as I know this is probably mentioned many times, if you look hard enough, you can find nice, decent clothing.

i know i've mentioned some stores before that i really like that have nice, modest clothing that isn't ripped from the archives. a couple off the top of my head are banana republic, anne taylor, and White House | Black Market.

I think I'm going to wear a headscarf for lent!

:) That's cool! Do you have scarves to wear?

(and a quick quote...
"Modesty is . . . much more than a matter of tight pants or spandex swimming suits, of hemlines or necklines.
Rather, it’s a line drawn in the heart; it’s the result of truly believing that the body is the temple of the spirit."
John S. Tanner)

I just ordered three :) Slate, amethyst (e.g. dark purple), and lavender for Laetare... or maybe I should use that as an excuse to buy a pretty pink, er, "very light purple" one? :)
