Kitty Posted June 1, 2008 Share Posted June 1, 2008 (edited) I just started listening to a Japanese death metal band called Maximum the Hormone. I prefer progressive/symphonic metal and I usually hate (don't hate, appreciate) death metal, but this group is phenomenal. It's like a mix of System of a Down, Korn, Three Days Grace, and other random genres like ska. Sometimes their songs start out punky and upbeat, and all of a sudden they start screaming. It's amazing stuff. My favorite song of theirs is "What's Up People?!" which is the 2nd opening theme song for my favorite anime, Death Note.
