Umm...Ladies? Oh, and here's another one...if a guy holds a door open for you, would you take that as a sign that he likes you?
For me now a days, no... Back when I was in middle school, maybe : Thank you for all the guys who open doors. It is appreciated. Even if girls don't show it, well the majority of them, deep down, they love it. Thy Geekdom Come
From Mark Twain's Joan of Arc: "And I was ashamed of these courtiers, too, for the way they licked their chops, so to speak, as envying Joan her great chance, they not knowing her any better than the King did. A blush began to rise in Joan's cheeks at the thought that she was working for her country for pay, and she dropped her head and tried to hide her face, as girls always do when they find themselves blushing; no one knows why they do, but they do, and the more they blush the more they fail to get reconciled to it, and the more they can't bear to have people look at them when they are doing it. The King made it a great deal worse by calling attention to it, which is the unkindest thing a person can do when a girl is blushing; sometimes, when there is a big crowd of strangers, it is even likely to make her cry if she is as young as Joan was...The King rallied her for blushing, and this brought up the rest of the blood and turned her face to fire. Then he was sorry, seeing what he had done, and tried to make her comfortable by saying that the blush was exceedingly becoming to her and not to mind it--which caused even the dog to notice it now, so of course the red in Joan's face turned to purple, and the tears overflowed and ran down--I could have told anybody that that would happen."
Well, it depends on how you define "like"... I've got a couple of classmates that I'm friendly-but-not-really-friends with that will hold the door for me, because they have good manners. I don't automatically think a guy likes me as in "likes" me if he holds open the door, but I would assume he doesn't really dislike me, either
Not necessarily. It's a sign that the man is chivalrous which I hold with high regard. So, the girl might come to like you because of the action! If anything, sincere chivalry is a great way to flirt. Edited February 11, 2007 by traichuoi

Catholictothecore
"Joy" is being with God through thick and thin "Happiness" is getting to spend a while with the girl you like in pleasent, courtly conversation "Bliss" is getting to spend 5 hours at Church. "Heavenly" is getting to have all three of the above for 5 hours on Sunday, being part of a discussion on marriage and relationships (getting to sit next to said friend for half of it), and getting invited to be part of a panel on "What the Eucharist means to you?" next month! Today has been a good day. Edited February 11, 2007 by Catholictothecore

J.P.
Well I thought that I might revive this topic. I wouldnt necessarily say that just because a guy opens a door for a lady means that he likes her. I think that us guys should be able to do nice things for our Sisters in Christ without fear of "leading them on". That goes the other way too. So this is a great topic. Does anyone else have some questions out there??
