She's Dutch. We're all terribly proud I believe the Brothers in Argentina do have grey habits while in formation, and maybe even blue scapulars (not entirely sure about that). One of the Sisters told me a story about vacation time: the Sisters that go trekking in the hills let their hair grow, and when they come back for the Start of Term feast (something like that) and haven't had time to cut it, strands of hair will come out from under their veil. Once, at that feast, some of the Brothers had "borrowed" a set of spare veils (and maybe scapulars too, if they didn't have them), and wore them with all their hair sticking out in front to make fun of their sisters! Of course, they all thought it hilarious (that's what they're Blue Sisters for, after all ).
Totus Tuus
Does anyone know where to find pictures of the Fr. Pablo Straubs' womens Order, The Consecrates of the Most Holy Savior? They are the most joyful sisters I have ever met in my life. Currently they are only in Mexico (at least they were only there as of last summer). linnie
these photos are so nice. But I'm still hoping someone will find the nuns who wear lavendar full habits and veils, and also the ones I saw who wear yellow. Darn, I wish I had been able to snap pictures of them in Rome! linnie Edited September 28, 2007 by linnie

EJames2
a return to pics - these are early pics of when the Capuchin Sisters of Nazareth, were called Capuchin Recollect Sisters -1997-and were in New Bedford, i believe founding from one or 2 original Sisters going along to start the CFR Sisters back in the day with the CFR renewal of the capuchins..but eventually some left and started this.. "as they settle into their radically primitive lifestyle here after having left a more active (new) Capuchin convent in New York City." Sister Theresa May the sisters depend "totally on Divine Providence". They don't even accept monetary donations for their ministry work in the field, missions and retreats, for example. Candidates for membership in the community would spend anywhere from six months to two years as postulants, followed by a two-year novitiate, with simple or temporary vows taken usually in about four years. A college education would not be required. Why is Sister Superior called "sister" rather than "mother" as is the practice in other orders? She says the sense of being "minority" -- someone of no importance -- is strong in the Franciscans. "I'm a sister with a special job. Oh, I'm motherly in my concerns about the sisters, about nurturing them, but I'm not above them." Edited October 10, 2007 by EJames2
