I hope you're feeling better too ... puking is no fun. Today's highs: I got to hang out with two great incoming first-year law students today. As the start of the school year approaches, I have been comparing how much more confident and together I feel this year than last; it really helps to have a few friends I feel I can really trust. And, I actually fit the bookcase I bought into the back seat of my car. In fact, most of my possessions will fit in my car, so now I am contemplating not having to get a moving van ... I just need someone with a Jeep for the two things I own that won't fit in my back seat. Lows: I really don't think I had any today. It was a very good day, all in all. Romans1513
Awesome thread! High: The weather was gorgeous here today, so I went on a walk, and I ended up walking like 2.5 hours. A bit too much, but it was a nice walk all the same and I ended up by the ocean around sunset-time. Then I went to Mass Low: Still getting over my cold or flu or whatever- I'm going through tissues so fast you'd be amazed. And also, I bought sunscreen today and it cost 11 US dollars! You'd think sunscreen would be pretty cheap by the ocean and since the sun is so strong down here but apparently not...
Brigid
wow, I like this thread, too! it's so cool to hear about other people. anyway... high: I was hanging out with my best friend tonight (and she starts school tomorrow, so it was the last time of the summer) and we were talking and playing scrabble and having lots of fun! and THEN, the doorbell rang, and it was an old friend of mine who moved to Canada two years ago (a surprise visit!), so the three of us got to talk. and her mom came, too, and she's one of my mom's best friends, so they got to talk, too. low: one of the little kids that I've been babsitting for twice a week all summer actually ran away today... like, we were outside, and he was throwing a fit, and he ran away. thankfully, he's not allowed to cross the street, so he only got to the neighbor's house before he had to turn around and come back. WillT
Yeah, letting children run away usually doesn't set well with parents.

[/quote] Cute. My mom was going to run away when she was a little girl. My aunt caught her at the door and she had a suitcase filled with barbie clothes. Apparently, my mom thought she might need them for her babies someday when she grew up. My aunt told her, "well, you know, if you run away, you can't take anything, because that would be stealing from mom and dad, so you'd have to go naked." Mom just turned around and went back to her room.
