I'm having this wierd experience where I feel closer to my monastic family than my real family, now that I'm back.
Anone else had that experience?

Therese, how about an update on the community - how large is it now, how many professed, how many novices and postulants? Do you feel like the sense of being "closer to the monastic family" than your real one is a "positive" or a "negative" to your discernment?

Its definitly a positive thing. If I were discerning and didn't feel that way I'd be concerned.
A monastic family is a REAL family.
Some interesting things I learned from my time there:

1- Nuns are cool!
2- Monastic culture is totally different from our culture
3-Qua (don't ask-you had to be there)

I don't mean to be rude but if anyone has any more detailed questions concerning specific members of the community, etc, they should contact the community themselves, as I am not a spokeperson for the community. ;)

I can't think of anything to say because everybody else has already said it. Remeber us in your prayers, we need it. And remember all of us who are waiting to "go in" also!
