No, my wish is made out of a desire for the SSPX -- with all of their traditionalist views on matters of doctrine and morality -- to be restored to communion with the Catholic Church, so that they can help to bring about a renewal in the Latin Church.
At this point praying is more important than discussing.
I agree. Along with putting one's trust in the Holy Spirit, who guides the magisterium of the Church.

I agree.
I've always wanted to be the John Madden of Phatmass, cause it's posts like these where I'd be able to take out my little pen and say, "See Al, what's goin on here is that you got the orthodox defensive line that comes out with this blunt but effective defense here and - BOOM - down goes the oppositon..."
LOL! -Katie

What exactly is the false "spirit" of Vatican II? If we all agree that the Holy Spirit is and has been guiding the magisterium, this includes Vatican II, right? -Katie
You said that my position was heretical.
On this issue we shall have to agree to disagree, because I consider your position heretical, and for me to embrace it I would have to apostatize from the Orthodox faith of the Eastern Fathers.

But, whatever. My point is that we are free to have discussions on this board. -Katie
The difference is canonical. Only a bishop and the proper tribunals of the Church can declare a person a heretic. On the other hand, opinions and comments can be described as erroneous or heretical without the necessity of a canonical judgment.

What, exactly, does this mean?

There was nothing wrong with Vatican II, its all the stuff that happened after. But that is for another thread. Use the search function.

Alright, sorry for the misunderstanding. I probably am a heretic in some sense anyway. -Katie

I'm working on it, but sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread and make it about myself-I am irrelevant. That's not the point of this discussion. -Katie
