This is going to be a great game. So much enmity between the 2 teams now, with Brashear out, might see New York taking some liberties.

They'd take "liberties" anyway. (Avery)

Personally, I find Brashear's antics embarrassing. He broke the guy's eye socket... ridiculous.

Avery is just an instigator, he claims to get the team fired up and keep the energy high, but really all he does is take stupid penalties that keep the Rangers playing from behind for 60 minutes.

What Brashear did was cowardly. Blindsiding a guy and breaking his face, he went out there with intent to do bodily harm, and take one of the Ranger's best penalty killers out of the series/playoffs. I think his suspension was pretty light.

I'm all for keeping fighting in the game, it's a great way for players to police themselves, but sometimes the "enforcer" role just goes too far... I just wish someone had a player bigger than Brashear to teach him a lesson

It was a nasty (and very cowardly) hit, but I don't think he meant to break his face. I do agree with you that the suspension is light.
