Nope, that was me...and it was actually just the diamond. Actually, it's kind of funny that you confused Missy and me, because people usually confused Missionseeker and me, because people abbreviate both of our sn's to MS.

Well, I lost the diamond to a wedding ring, but I was (and still am) only engaged. The ring just came from his mom, so it was the complete wedding ring, not just the engagement half.

And seriously, I don't know how you could manage that long without meeting and not go completely insane...I would've ended up dying somewhere in the middle of nowhere in an attempt to walk to TN if I would've had to wait that long (or else my roommates would've killed me, because I would've been so hard to live around)! I got off easy with only waiting a total of five months from when we first talked to when we first met! If we had to wait two years, I probably would've been engaged to him before we ever met in person! We aren't the patient type...

As I told Cat, I hope it is everything you both dreamed it would be and more! I am so excited for all of you!! Prayers for your meeting!

Let's see, I "met" him in June, and spent the month of October here visiting, so 3 1/2 months before meeting in person. We married 2 1/2 months after I went back home. At our age, hardly worth having a 5 year courtship.

Yeah they're strong. Missy was saying a while ago how Cat and I have it easy... we get to meet in less than 8 months. Despite our moments or anxiety, I've found the time went by fast.

Because it's a "clickish" inside joke kind of thing. We're happy for you all that you're getting to visit each other, but it seems like you only made the poll in Open Mic because you can't make them in the LB (for example you made a thread in the LB directing everyone to go vote in your poll) . At least it wasn't closed or the poll disabled (particularly in light of the fact that deleting lame polls in Open Mic has been pretty strictly enforced). It's not personal, it just seemed out of place in Open Mic. I think the poll is what did it in ("vote for the cutest couple" etc.), otherwise it would have just been a nice "Hey we're finally getting to meet in person!" thread that everyone could have related to.

oh... the poll was a joke. I don't usually do things somewhere just cuz I can't do them elsewhere... that's kind of rude and obnoxious, yeah? I didn't tell them to vote in the thread. "I refer you to this post. Thank you!" I simply wanted them to see it. Some of them rarely venture into OM cuz half it's discouraging, disheartening debate "dialogue". I think disabling the poll woulda been fine. Didn't realize it was against the rules. Sowwy

It's ok, it just seemed like the poll was the point of the thread, which is kinda lame. Seems like there was some mutual misunderstanding.

But, we're still really happy for both couples. A lot of us understand how nerve wracking long distance relationships can be and how much you've been looking forward to this.
