Nihil Obstat Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) For anyone who was wondering/interested/homicidal/wanting to kill me recently, yes, I have been significantly and notably stranger and more wacky than usual in the last week and a half. The reason for this is a magic combination of exams, studying, and caffeine. Am I going to get marginally more boring when exams are over? Possibly, but I hope not. This is a lot of fun. In the meantime, all inquiries as to my sanity and fitness to interact with society should be directed to my secretary, Maehara Shinobu. CatherineM Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 An advantage to being female is that we can blame such things on hormones.
IgnatiusofLoyola Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 (edited) Wacky is good. We need more wacky. LOTS more wacky. As for anime, I don't hate it, but I think it may take me some time to acquire a taste for it. So, you have my permission to continue. Question: When I lie on the couch and read or use my laptop, I am facing West, and also facing my cats. Should I switch to the other side of the couch so that I am facing East? If I do, my male cat will also switch, so that I continue to face him. This would leave me facing one cat and with my back to the other. However, since I am facing East when I am preparing their food, and they face East while they are eating, does their directional orientation matter while they are sleeping? Also, my cats take their food directly into their mouths without use of their paws. Am I setting a poor precedent by eating in a different manner than they do, that is, using my hands (and utensils)? Please answer these questions in the most correct, yet concise manner possible. Use of textbooks or other authoritative sources is allowed. However, anime is not considered an authoritative source on this topic. Proceed. Caffeine in any form may be consumed while answering. However, please indicate whether caffeine has been consumed or not, so that the answer may be viewed in its proper context. Edited April 28, 2010 by IgnatiusofLoyola

Then, on a lark, I decided to watch an anime series. I did it to break exam stress. I'd study for a couple hours then watch an episode. From there, it was already too late. Now it's a horrible secret that only a two people outside PM are aware of. (Literally) I still hate on it outside PM. It's a study in cognitive dissonance. To answer your question...... I think this picture will do just fine.

In addition, it ignores the tradition that anime does not qualify as an authoritative source. Further, the question of caffeine consumed was not addressed, so your answer will be declared invalid. P.S. That picture is godawful ugly. I can't even figure out what it represents.
Hilde Posted April 28, 2010 Posted April 28, 2010 I strongly dislike anime. I like pokemon though, but pokemon is pokemon.

But, both are too large.

I have an old college classmate who now lives in Tokyo and does the Japanese to English translations for anime films and Japanese sci-fi novels. I keep meaning to watch the films he translated, but I keep forgetting. He says he really doesn't like Japanese sci-fi that much, but it pays the bills.

I haven't seen any sci-fi stuff either.
