The most recent version of the prayer is great!

Does anyone think we should do a specific intention for each day, week, month, etc.?

Or does everyone think we should just pray the prayer as it is and occasionally offer a specific intention as it arises (like if someone has a fundraiser for paying off debt, struggling with doubt, etc.)?

Sometimes, I'll notice someone will post something in the Prayer Room or say something in chat, and I can identify with their difficulty. That would be why I suggest setting an intention, even if it isn't set and recurring. It can be as simple as adding a line giving voice to whatever is needed, or establishing a thought to meditate on before actually saying the prayer.

Pax et bonum!

That's a good idea. What does everyone think about adding in a line for specific intentions versus making them known before or after the prayer.

nice idea! we really need the blog going.

It's my opinion that a blog is unnecessary. Also, in my experience, they rarely stay updated.

What do we think about beginning this thing officially on Divine Mercy Sunday?

Without a specific place to pool this information, it will get lost in the phorum. I don't believe any of us has so great a memory as to remember all that might go into it, and we can only have so many pinned topics in the Vocation Station. Even if the blog isn't updated often - which it doesn't necessarily need to be - at least it will be a static location on the Internet that contains all the information we need to keep this going. And with multiple authors/administrators of the blog, we could pass along the responsibility as people enter and help each other since life can be busy sometimes and one person just can't do it all.

So that's my opinion as to why a blog would be helpful.

Divine Mercy Sunday also = the beatification of Pope John Paul II!!! I think that's perfect since he was so influential in a lot of young people's awareness of and response to a vocation.

One more thought about the prayer... I came across a beautiful, short prayer in my spiritual reading recently. It's by St. Mary Magdalen dei Pazzi, and I think it fulfills all that really needs to be said:

I ask this grace of You always: grant that all chosen souls may receive perfect light and knowledge of their state, so that they may gladly renounce themselves and devote themselves to Your service.

Simple, beautiful, and to-the-point. As much as I like the one we composed together, personally I'm favoring St. Mary Magdalen's prayer because it's memorizable (I have so many prayer cards and prayers on sheets and bookmarked prayers online already!) and is very humble and accepting of God's will, whatever the call is. And, not to say we aren't holy.... but it also has the benefit of having been composed by a canonized Saint.

And then we could just add, "especially the men and women of phatmass" at the end and do whatever we decide to do with the special intentions. If we use a calendar, it could just be as simple as looking at the intention or that person's name listed with no additional words necessary to the prayer.

As you can tell, I'm a big fan of simplicity

Yep, Yep, Yep. Sometimes I get lost among the threads here and a blog is a concentrated thing.

And Divine Mercy Sunday is amesome to begin this!

We're officially beginning on Divine Mercy Sunday, though nothing keeps us from praying for one another before then. :like:

Lol I don't think they are connected. I am new here so I have no idea what's going on here, just taking it all in and thinking about
the helpful things said in the forums. It has been a blessing to me already. Thank God for Christian brothers and sisters.
More than anything right now I would like to get some sleep but the cat kept me awake and I didn't do a very good job
of offering it. I was busy getting on the cat's case.

I am a woman but I don't ever want to see a woman priest. Something just not right about that.
