You're all a bunch of damned socialists.

I get this joke. If I'm thinking of the same story by Milton Friedman that you are.

The constitution and the mindset in which it was enacted does not change over time. The mindset in which the USSC interprets it drastically changes over time. You really think our founding fathers would have been OK with such a large government military, taxation (including double taxation on stock dividends), gun restrictions, LGBT movements, obamacare, EPA rulings, etc? I'm not just talking about bleeding heart liberal croutons either. Our defense budget needs cut into about 1/100th of what it is.
The mindset does not change because it does not exist. There was no single, unified intentionality behind the constitution. Hence why the Framers often argued amongst themselves what was and was not constitutional after ratification. Even if it were possible to discern the intents of the framers I'd be very careful about making this argument if I were you. I'm sure most of the framers would have balked at the idea of gay marriage but so far as I know they did not entertain conspiracies about the intentions of homosexuals the usurp the very foundations of the state (and some of them seem to have privately preferred the company of men to woman). Many of them did, however, harbor such fear towards Catholicism and Catholics. The attitude towards Catholicism amongst the founders seems to have generally ranged on a spectrum that went from condescending tolerance to outright hostility. John Jay wanted elected officials to renounce Popery before assuming office and they were quite happy to allow states to prohibit Catholics from voting.

I mean if you financially support an organization that gives millions of dollars to organizations that want to criminalize homosexuality then people probably are going to think that gay rights are pretty low on your list of priorities. Is bigot or homophobe the right word to describe you? Probably not. They're very general and amorphous terms and can encompass about anything. And I dislike how much nuance gets lost when people throw around such catch-all terms. But I don't understand why some Catholics here do this sometimes. You all stand up and proudly announce that you're going to eat chick-fil-a, work against ending laws that legally discriminate against gays, and affirm your Church's teaching that homosexuality is an objectively disordered condition, and then are just shocked and dismayed when somebody calls you a homophobe.

I'm sure plenty of Northern conservatives had black friends or blacks who they were friendly with. But when they fought against civil rights and had published newspaper editorials announcing that blocking blacks from voting since they weren't ready for big boy political participation *cough* Bill Buckley *cough* *cough* people really weren't that willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that they **really** didn't hate black people.

IF WANT TO EAT A FRIGIN SANDWICH WITH CHICKEN AT CHIK-FIL-A, I WILL REGARDLESS OF WHAT THEIR MONEY "SUPPORTS"

I shop at JCPenneys and Target and eat Kraft foods. They support Gay agenda.

Eating somewhere does NOT make a person a bigot. Oreven wrong. It makes them less hungry.

you get a partial indulgence for every chick fil a sammich consumed with waffle fries. extra if you eat 'em with mayo
Well, I'm doomed. I eat my chicken sandwiches plain - nothing but meat and bread. I don't know why anyone would contaminate such good meat with a disgusting substance that kills the flavor entirely. This is acceptable on hamburgers where the meat tastes bad in the first place, but not on good chicken.

No. And if you just go to Chick-fil-a or to Target then people probably won't read anything into it. If you announce right now GONNA GO TO CHICK-FIL-A!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111!!!!!!!!!!!!! Then people will probably read something into it, and reasonably so, unless you always announce which restraunts you're going to eat at.

Dear goodness. Never has a meme ever brought forth such fruit from my labors of copying and pasting. I need to post images during debates more often.

WHOA

One thousand dollars. Not millions. One thousand. Was it one thousand too many dollars? Yes I agree with you. But the organization that gets the bulk of Chick Fil a's money is a foundation created by the family and you've shown nothing that demonstrates criminalization by that group

Just the one that got 1000 bucks

Hyperbole and exaggeration does not win arguments. They excacerbate them

I hope you're happy Hassan and other people making a stink over Chick-Fil-A. Because of you me and my homophobe friends had to wait for 20 minutes in a line going out the beaver dam door just to get a beaver dam chicken sandwich. If this continues I'm going to have to switch to Wendys and eat a beaver dam square for dinner. Thanks a lot.

You're right. I read snopes and they said millions of dollars. But looking into the organizations most are anti-LGBT only in the sense that they consider homosexuality a sin.

1-While I am truly honored to even be mistakenly associated with Hassa, I am Hasan. You're a racist for confusing us.

2-You just hate gingers

3- Wendys is fantastic.
