I hate to be nitpicky, but I think BMI is a poor measure of fitness. It is simply height and weight. It doesn't take into account whether the weight is fat or muscle (which weighs more than fat). A while back, there was a big issue with this a few years back in high schools where football players and wrestlers that were in excellent physical shape were placed under food restrictions at lunchtime because their BMI said they were overweight. Ended up causing problems with them having to find ways to sneak the additional food they needed to maintain their activities (consider Phelps eats 12,000 calories/day).

Much better measures of fitness and healthiness are things like body fat % or measuring your heart rate and blood pressure before, during, and after exercise.
Except it is notoriously difficult to get an accurate measure of body fat%

Also, which weighs more, a lb of fat or a lb or muscle?

I'm surprised a physicist interchanges terms like density and weight. You've let me down for the last time Brian :weep: :sad2:  :cry2: :sadwalk: :drunk:

The ran the 5 miles in 50 minutes and 5 seconds. I asked myself WHY COULD I NOT SHAVE OFF 6 DARN MORE SECONDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was my first time though so that's not so bad.

Why I try to work out.
New research suggests drinking a natural beverage such as fruit juice, milk, or even beer after exercise could be more effective than highly-engineered beverages designed specifically to aid in workout recovery

you'd feel better with the beer, for sure.... Maybe you need to invest in a St. Bernard running companion... and swap out beer for the stuff in the keg... get s/him to run out ahead of you -- now THAT is an incentive!

Ran 4 miles in 32 minutes and 28 seconds on Saturday!!! A personal best. I gotta start doing pushups again my mom said because that's where I'm fairly weak. I would be very pleased with myself if I could do 15 in a set and I typically do 3 sets to 3 consecutive Christian Metal songs. I look forward to running sometimes but rarely look forward to doing pushups. I'd rather clean my room.
