Consider the difference: "male and female He created them"..........."male or female He created them"?  It is at once lexical semantics with the search for understanding.

I think that three things drove Kurt Cobain into the black, dark seemingly bottomless abyss of depression leading to suicide.  One of those was misinterpretation of his lyrics changing his meaning.  One other was that I  think he was under serious and mortal threat.  The third thing I have discerned not to mention here.

The original guitarist from Nirvana played with Bob Dylan after Kurt, lead singer Nirvana, committed suicide.

(The lyrics "his licence to kill"is not Dylan's licence, in his meaning, but the licence of Jesus to destroy - and Dylan states why).

I could not understand what WOKE really meant.  This was about the best I could find: https://graziadaily.co.uk/life/real-life/woke-added-dictionary-really-mean/

I also found this interesting from the Mayo Clinic https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gender-dysphoria/symptoms-causes/syc-20475255

Once a person jumps over a cliff, nothing can be done until that person hits rock bottom...........short of the ridiculous to bastardize for what I am using the aforementioned as a simile, because Dylan is stating that society is over the cliff and now at a point of no return or 'heading for the bottom'. This is a provocation to someone, a collaborator.

The above is the message of the video by Dylan below.  Society is at the point of no return, he is stating, and there is nothing he anyway can do (provoking) because society and music has hit a new expression which has no place for The Eternal, for God and Catholicism: "I used to care, but things have changed".  In the video, he does remind  visually of Charlie Chaplin (another powerful social commentator, through his art, to his times back then).   Pope Benedict XVI had something to prophetically state too, in his book Faith and The Future (relevant excerpts here:  " Men in a totally planned world will find themselves unspeakably lonely. If they have completely lost sight of God, they will feel the whole horror of their poverty. Then they will discover the little flock of believers as something wholly new. They will discover it as a hope that is meant for them, an answer for which they have always been searching in secret." https://catholicinsight.com/the-church-will-become-smaller/

Awards: "Things Have Changed" is a song from the film Wonder Boys, written and performed by Bob Dylan and released as a single on May 1, 2000, is won both the Academy Award for Best Original Song and the Golden Globe Award for Best Original Song."

Quote

Further quote from Pope Benedict's (Cardinal Ratzinger) book and prophecy: "........"The Church will be a more spiritualized Church, not presuming upon a political mantle, flirting as little with the Left as with the Right. It will be hard going for the Church, for the process of crystallization and clarification will cost her much valuable energy. It will make her poor and cause her to become the Church of the meek. The process will be all the more arduous, for sectarian narrow-mindedness as well as pompous self-will will have to be shed. … But when the trial of this sifting is past, a great power will flow from a more spiritualized and simplified Church. Men in a totally planned world will find themselves unspeakably lonely. If they have completely lost sight of God, they will feel the whole horror of their poverty. Then they will discover the little flock of believers as something wholly new. They will discover it as a hope that is meant for them, an answer for which they have always been searching in secret.

And so it seems certain to me that the Church is facing very hard times. The real crisis has scarcely begun. We will have to count on terrific upheavals. But I am equally certain about what will remain at the end: not the Church of the political cult, which is dead already, but the Church of faith. She may well no longer be the dominant social power to the extent that she was until recently; but she will enjoy a fresh blossoming and be seen as man’s home, where he will find life and hope beyond death."https://catholicinsight.com/the-church-will-become-smaller/

The irony of you quoting Pope Benedict as if he’s talking about a Church that’s going to be passive when it comes to gender theory or gender identity ideology simply because it’s promoted on the left or condemned the right is laughable.

——————————-

In an address to the Roman Curia given at Christmas 2012, less than two months before he stepped down, the German pope noted that “the very notion of being – of what being human really means – is being called into question”.

He said that according to the “new philosophy of sexuality”, sex is “no longer a given element of nature, that man has to accept and personally make sense of: it is a social role that we choose for ourselves, while in the past it was chosen for us by society.”

He said: “The profound falsehood of this theory and of the anthropological revolution contained within it is obvious.

“People dispute the idea that they have a nature, given by their bodily identity, that serves as a defining element of the human being. They deny their nature and decide that it is not something previously given to them, but that they make it for themselves.

“According to the biblical creation account, being created by God as male and female pertains to the essence of the human creature. This duality is an essential aspect of what being human is all about, as ordained by God.

“This very duality as something previously given is what is now disputed. The words of the creation account: “male and female he created them” (Gen 1:27) no longer apply. No, what applies now is this: it was not God who created them male and female – hitherto society did this, now we decide for ourselves.

“Man and woman as created realities, as the nature of the human being, no longer exist. Man calls his nature into question. From now on he is merely spirit and will.

“The manipulation of nature, which we deplore today where our environment is concerned, now becomes man’s fundamental choice where he himself is concerned. From now on there is only the abstract human being, who chooses for himself what his nature is to be.

“Man and woman in their created state as complementary versions of what it means to be human are disputed. But if there is no pre-ordained duality of man and woman in creation, then neither is the family any longer a reality established by creation. Likewise, the child has lost the place he had occupied hitherto and the dignity pertaining to him.”

Pope Benedict added: “When the freedom to be creative becomes the freedom to create oneself, then necessarily the Maker himself is denied and ultimately man too is stripped of his dignity as a creature of God, as the image of God at the core of his being.

“The defence of the family is about man himself. And it becomes clear that when God is denied, human dignity also disappears. Whoever defends God is defending man.”

The Church knows what the scriptures mean by “He made the male and female”.  It’s not a mystery and it’s not something we’re making assumptions about.

Bishop Cobain and Cardinal Bob isn’t going to change this fact.

Why is Dylan eating a sandwich at the end of the video:

Whats a baloney sandwich

5 Apr 2019 — A piece of bread and a slice of bologna equals a bologna sandwich. A baloney sandwich is a phoney issue being discussed between two politicians

Often and probably most often, Dylan does not provide answers, explanations.  Consider the direction in which he looks and the expression on his face as you hear - HEAR - the music.

Using the sword (or the political state and its laws) aren't effective means of evangelization (and really, they never were, which I suspect is one of the reasons why so many people around the world who have family/generational histories of forced conversions are walking--if not running--away from Christianity).

They are running away from Christianity because after the sword has been used against us, by making us indifferent, by removing our morals little by little, and now by grooming our children, we stand idly by and do nothing - for we are no longer Christians, but cowards.

The sword has been turned on Christianity through Modernism and other heresies for centuries.

Long ago the Saints battled heresy.  Now we embrace it and excuse ourselves saying, "if we're not nice enough to people who don't know better, we will turn them away from the Church".  No, niceness means nothing when the truth is not proclaimed.

I agree, just as  truth without niceness is false.
