Balthazor
when I present my complaints to guys ya wanna know what they tell me? "Yeah, but you can go out drinking and not have to spend as much." Nice guys, that totally makes up for everything. I can get drunk cheaper because some leacher wants to get in my pants and is willing to buy me a drink to get there. Maybe if chivalry wasn't dead. I wouldn't be so bitter. ForHimAlone
Oh, you can not have such a bad opinion of men! Sure, there are some that would mistreat you, but there are also some women who mistreat men. Men are wonderful creations and should be given dignity and respect. Do not despair... chivalry lives on. I'm convinced!
Chivalry's not dead. Most women find me pathetic when I defend their womanhood. It's not just a lack of chivalry...it's a lack of Faith. If you were walking behind me, I would hold the door open for you. If we went out on a date, I would drink iced tea and wouuldn't dream of offering you a drink. But I have similar difficulties too...just from a Catholic man's POV.
I'm with ForHimAlone on this one Men are wonderful creations of God Many of them have lost their way and are somewhat rude, but many women have also fallen into this same problem. I know that chivalry lives on. I see it in my father and my brothers, and in the men here on Phatmass. Each and everyone of them are a prime example of how all men should behave, and God love them for setting this example. Just as every woman here on Phatmass is a wonderful example of how a woman should act.
Balthazor
I know that good guys are out there. It is just that I always have to deal with the idiots, sometimes violently, God forgive me.
homeschoolmom
The fact that the Bible records dialogues between Jesus and women shows how much He loves us. Jesus broke all kinds of social taboos because He loves us all...

MagiDragon
I don't get it. Women are in general more spiritual than men and tend to have a stronger belief in God. And yet he throws all this carp on us.
You answered yourself right here. Guys have the worldly strength, power and influence, we're *made* to excel in the physical. What we don't have is the psychological strength that women have. Women are far better at dealing with day to day problems that wear a man down. Men are more subject to physical reality, and that's what the world emphasizes today. Women are more subject to emotions. I think women excel in the spiritual precisely because they don't have the worldly strength, power. and influence that blinds men. cathgirl
God loves women!! Just look at Mary!! (btw-i've heard that women in America are the only women who get hot flashes and stuff during menopause b/c of our diets and stuff I'm not sure, that's just what I've heard! )

Thy Geekdom Come
I don't get it. Women are in general more spiritual than men and tend to have a stronger belief in God. And yet he throws all this carp on us.
Maybe it's because He knows you can handle it better than we can, because you are more spiritual. God doesn't hate women. Men and women do have different tasks, but don't let that upset you. We all have difficulties which seem specific to certain groups. I imagine it must be hard to be a woman, but at the same time, look at what men are expected to do...be chivalrous, do the tough labor, make the money, be the head of the household, etc. These aren't as easy as they sound, especially in a society when so many women hate having doors opened for them, hate having men outdo their work, hate having men outdo their income, and hate submitting to their husbands (which, given the abuse by men is understandable...men have to be loving...if they are loving toward their wives, then there will be nothing to fear). I don't mean to say that it's harder for men, but I do think that we both do a lot of whining about how much easier it is for the other sex, just because we don't know what it's really like. toledo_jesus
That's His M.O., you know? God gives those closer to Him more suffering, more trials, more pain, and it's a blessing because it unites you that much more intimately to Our Lord Jesus Christ. Who, coincidentally, died feeling the weight of all the sins of man and woman, and the resultant pain. Men have it easier here in the world, and that can work against us in spiritual matters. Theoketos
I was hesitent to comment in this thread as I both am not a women and do not see God as hating women but then I read this right after reading this thread
When a woman is in labor, she is in anguish because her hour has arrived; but when she has given birth to a child, she no longer remembers the pain because of her joy that a child has been born into the world.
Women are so awesome and the fullness of what it means to be human.
