Old_Joe
Let us remember the wise words of Friar Tuck: "This is grain, which any fool can eat, but for which the Lord intended a more divine means of consumption. Let us give praise to our maker and glory to his bounty by learning about... BEER."

SRMartin15
Having a few beers, or glasses of wine in my opinion is relaxing. Its when you get carried away that you need to start to worry.
why is it okay for someone to kill their child at 18 and its not okay to enjoy fine wine every now and then?
I couldnt agree with you more. Laudate_Dominum
And he is correct about the over drinking of water. A person can overhydrate themselves and it can actually land them in the emergency room. So in all fairness all beverages should be drank in moderation. He's correct here too. There are far too many taboos about alcohol here in this country especially. A country such as France drinks wine like most of us would drink a coke or some tea. It is part of their culture to drink wine with any meal rather it be alone or with company. God Bless, Jen
Amen. I just wanted to add that I also have a problem with the taboo regarding drinking in the morning. People think I'm a drunk because I might have beer or wine in the morning, or put a shot of whiskey in my morning tea. When I stayed for a time with a family in Italy they served beer and wine even at breakfast! They would not have thought anything weird about it. It's just puritanical America. Cheers! mulls
what people need to ask themselves.... does this action/behavior honor God? am I treating my body like the temple that it is? will it affect my witness? will it cause myself or others to stumble? i have gone from a non-drinker to a special occasions drinker I'm 22 now, had my first *legal* drinks with a few friends after graduation in may, and have gone to two weddings, including this past weekend, where I had drinks. I was able to really get into a deep spiritually open conversation with my date/friend after the wedding over some drinks. I got close to my limit but didn't get drunk. Probably won't drink again till my next wedding/special occasion. Gotta be careful with this stuff.
