When I met my now husband, I was pro- birth control, and I didn't understand confession either. In fact, I was as cafeteria catholic as you can get. It was my hubby who showed me and helped lead me back to the TRUE faith, not what I was following. He dealt with the contraception issue by listening to "Contracaption, why not" by Janet Smith with me on a loooong car ride. And he always defended and explained the faith to me. Even when he thoght it would offend me or that I wouldn't change. Please don't back off of explaining the Faith in fear of offending her. If Chad did that I would still be in line at the cafeteria. (By the way, he had the same issue about moving past friendships too... in fact he called me once from Rome to tell me that he was discerning the priesthood!! Fortunately, God led him somewhere else )
