Not sure where he is now. I know he was in Fallujah the last time he was there. I think his group is the 2nd Recon Battalion or something. :idontknow:

Except you seem not to be considering that not everyone is as lucky as you are, and is without a gorgeous Church anywhere in the area. And I would have to put forward my opinion that if the priest is orthodox and reverent, one should be able to put aside one's loathing of the arcitecture for a few years at least. We NO Catholics are not responsible for the idiocies of 70s era architects. Morotheos is being grateful for the improvements that are happening in his Church, and I don't think you should belittle that.

Well said! :clapping:

Noel's angel

It might not be good enough for some people on this thread, but it was good enough for Cardinal O'Brien :)

Noel, thats a beautiful church...

I know not all parishes are rich, but they can at least avoid communistic and modernistic kind of architecture and art. Some modern is nice but Ive seen far too many uglies. When I way communistic, I mean when the communists made a set of goals they wanted to accomplish for america, they wanted to replace all ancient and beautiful art with meaningless repulsive shapes and images..I see this has been acomplished all over..

I want to visit this church:

And this one.

People think I'm a little bit sick. *shrugs* These churches are Catholic. And I think skulls are cool. One thing I love about Catholicism is its resident circles of weirdness.

My school takes students to that Chapel when they are in Austria.
It's pretty intense, but remindes us that we're not immortal. Definately a church I would want to check out
if I go to Europe!

Noel's angel

Thanks Akalyte :)

My Church was actually rebuilt in 1993, so it shows that modern churches aren't always (and I hate to use this word) ugly. There's still hope!

I'm not sure what exactly he was doing, it was actually before mass. I heard someone say that he was doing a personal mass, but I don't know what that is if that is even what he was doing there. The TLM is not done at my church.
