Oh I hydrate. I was Hydrating like a beast that trip too, in preperation. I think I just have a certain nemesis in high elevations. I probly would've been fine at a lower elevation ski mountain, A-Basin is kind of high....
Well, like you said, you drove overnight from MI, then went skiing! Hello! i haven't been to A-basin yet...

Honestly, it took me close to two months to fully adjust, and i'm only around 6,100 feet where i live. Now, though, it is fun to go back downhill to the East Coast, and outrun my friends. :)

A-Basin is really cool, I was able to ski about half the day after getting sick, so it wasn't a total disaster. It's high and hardcore, but it's so laid back... it's not at all glitzy like Aspen or the other resort areas.

That's what i've heard, plus, it's open way longer than other places. Guess that counts as a reason -

231. Saint Olaf thinks A-Basin is cool/laid back, and it stays open as late as June.

232. When you vote in the congressional primaries, you get a sticker AND a cookie!

233. Again, since this district is so, well, heavily one-sided when it comes to politics, i get to find out tonight, or perhaps tomorrow, who my next congressman will be... This is fun!

 - except, only with the olympics - the hockey play-offs were not on a time delay.

253. The Rocky Mountain version of the AT is called the Colorado Trail. unlike the AT, it only goes through one state. Guess they figured it's the only one worth hiking.
