philothea Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 Oh, I thought the PMS was bad, and the cramps, and the anemia, but now after a month of off-the-scale stress, I've topped that. Every. Freaking. Joint. I posesss. Is swollen and aches. Also, I have gained about seven pounds of water. Gah!

philothea Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 (edited)
+J.M.J.+ why???
As far as I can tell, the combination of prolonged stress + perimenopause + salty snacks + that time of the month. Because of the stress (an ice storm, with big trees falling and a three-day power outage, lots of missed sleep, then flooding and tornadoes, woo!), all my progesterone got turned into cortisol, which means I get inflamed and can't regulate fluids quite right. (Admittedly, I'm kind of a freak, but this probably also affects other women to some extent.) No biggie, I'll cut out the salt and carbs and just, ah, pee a lot. But, dang. Annoying. DiscerningSoul Posted December 31, 2008 Posted December 31, 2008 If you want to see me cry at the drop of a pin, what for "that time of the month" and watch the flood! Kayla knows what I am talking about, poor thing has seen me wailing. Anyway, it's snowing here!!! YEAH!!! now I have to bring the darn cat to the vet for shots, driving in snow like this, oh I just want to start cring!
