I never had cramps until I had my wisdom teeth taken out and I took pain killers...

Also, I recently learned heavy bleeding runs in the family and my grandmother had to have her uterus removed. She also had an ulcerated sore on her ankle that never healed. My mom has told me many horror stories about her mom and the vein popping on her ankle...

Last week, I was in so much pain, I ended up puking... fun stuff.

This is a lovely thread. Why didn't I know about this?

An 8 lb melon...

11lbs, 4oz for one of my mom's...I'm getting, like, sympathy pains or something.

Well, to be fair none of my kids have been 8lbs or higher (yet... the biggest was 7lbs 11oz) but I was just estimating for a general average. Either way (and I apologize in advance for saying this) it definitely feels like a lot more than 6 or 7 lbs when the baby is coming out.

When I read it I just thought "OH MY GOSH!!! THAT'S IT!!!" (Yes, all caps yelling in my brain.) I go through that with Matt all the time. In fact, step by step instructions and he still can't find the item. Yesterday he went grocery shopping (which he actually does a lot and does very well) and I had dishwasher soap on the list... so he brings home a large bottle of liquid dish soap. When I asked him why he bought that when I'd written dishwasher he said he'd figured if I meant soap for the dishwasher I'd have written down "packets" instead of just "soap." And here I'd thought "dishwasher" would be enough of a clue. Apparently "dish soap" and "dishwasher soap" are pretty much the same thing and I have to specify "packets" the next time...

this is hilarious!
I asked the Country Doctor what he would do if he could not immediately locate one of our sons in a convenience store, after filling up at a gas station in another town. I am positive that if the child did not materialize, directly in front of him, in a matter of seconds, the CD would decide that the kid was gone for good. He would run out to the car to tell me that one of our boys was lost, forever. I would jump out of the car, rush into the gas station, move my body slightly to the left, swivel my head ten degrees to the right and our child would instantly appear in front of me.

"How did you do that?" the CD would gasp.

"I used my EYEBALLS!!!!!!! You know THESE THINGS!" I would say, pointing to my eyes.
AMEN!!
