I care about the humanity of Jews, and how it was denied to them. I care about the humanity of babies in the womb which is denied to them.

I've spoken to Jewish people, who were prolife, about this before and they had no problem with it and agreed. I'm sure that not all Jewish people agree, but to paint them all with a big brush and lump them all together and assume the will all be offended is wrong.

Also nice play of using an emotional appeal to attack what you believe is an emotional appeal.
I am not offended and I am in the same boat.

Yeah, don't lump us all together Hassan!!! :annoyed:
Thing is, the Jews do not have sole dibs on suffering caused by Nazis. How many people died in the Holocaust? Half of that toal were not Jewish. They were mentally retarded, physically handicapped, Catholic, black, homosexual, or gypsy.
My reaction was to KoC's post which used the specific example of the Nazi attempt to exterminate the Jews.
How many people suffered in Europe because of the Nazi's? How many Americans died on D-Day because of the Nazi's?

I am a Catholic. I am an American. My people suffered because of the Nazis. I am not offended by comparisons between abortion and the Holocaust. If other groups are offended, well, I"m sorry. But it seems accurate to me.
Some Catholics suffered under the Nazi regime. However there was never the same systematic effort to slaughter every last Catholic in Europe. You are right that the Jews were not the only ones who suffered, but they were unique in terms of the fury with which the Nazis tried to exterminate them and in terms of how proportionally devestated their comunities were as a result of the genocide. People here usually don't refer to Nazi war crimes generically, they are specific to compare it to the effort to slaughter the Jews. A lot of Jews find it offensive that people trivialize the near extermination of the European Jewish community in less than a decade in order to add a little extra emotional pow to their punch.

Yet in this case specifically we are talking about the extermination of MILLIONS of unborn children.

And yet again, you neglect the other side of the argument which is that they aren't persons yet. I know you disagree, but its no wonder why no one wants to debate with anti-abortion folks.

Their extermination is not trivial. Catholics believe that every life is sacred, whether it's a child in the womb, or a Jewish man, or a handicapped child, etc. If we were to NOT point out the similarity between the systematic murder of thousands of children every day, (which was, keep in mind, spearheaded by the same ideals of "racial cleansing") and the systematic murder of the Jews in Europe, THAT would be dishonoring the Shoah.

No, people are not trivializing the deaths of six million Jews. Rather, they add respect to the loss of human life at the whims of the government and show a prime example of a government with a loss of morals with respect to human beings. People who do not care about the sanctity of human life disregard the example as an emotional punch as they can only see it as a "bad" event based only on their own opinion and not on any solid moral ground reasoning.

How and when is someone a person then? As I've heard it before, "If there's no baby inside of your womb then you're not pregnant."

We don't appreciate debating with people who don't respect human life until a subjective time frame suitable to their wishes. With word games, we can play all day.

"Do you care? Why not try to make your case without acting as parasites, sucking on the emotional blood which flows through the memory of the shoah."

This is a emotional appeal. If you don't wanna be honest about it that's fine.

PS "Many" Jewish people don't have a problem with the comparison of both holocaust.
