Queen'sDaughter Posted February 20, 2012 Posted February 20, 2012 You know you are a future nun...when you bring The Springs of Silence to a movie night!
I never thought I'd see the day when someone talked about becoming a nun for beauty reasons EDIT: Though you know it's true - nuns are all beautiful. It isn't the habit. When a nun is faithful to what she is, it makes her 'light up' somehow. I've seen it a lot of times. So yeah, become a nun for Christ's sake and get beauty as a bonus side-effect. Kayte Postle Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 You get super excited when you see an email from a Vocation Director/ Vocation Assistant, even if it is just the monthly newsletter.

EmilyAnn Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 When you're always emailing the novice mistress with the questions you forgot when you saw her. I've been doing this recently. Somehow when I was meeting with her I couldn't remember a thing, the second I got home I had a load of questions.
Annie12 Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 (edited) when you write poetry and songs about your discernment and CAN'T stop thinking about being a nun and watch the sound of music just so you can watch the nuns! Edited February 24, 2012 by Annie12

LaPetiteSoeur Posted February 24, 2012 Author Posted February 24, 2012 You have a dream about your future community...and the CFRs are there! I've decided the CFRs were at the convent for a party.
marigold Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 ... when you think you have genuinely stopped caring what people think of you in your strange postulant clothes at the supermarket.
TheresaThoma Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 when picking out new glasses you try to imagine how they might look with a habit.

Deus te Amat Posted February 24, 2012 Posted February 24, 2012 I just got new glasses with that in mind.

I had not seen her with her old glasses, but when she was surfing somewhere, they fell off her and she had to get new ones. The new ones were had thick rims and had flowers, sparkles, and bumblebees on the sides! She was allowed to wear them for some time, but then she had to get other more regular ones. She said she misses her old ones though.
Yeah my sensible side won out on the glasses. There was a sale two pairs for $99. So I got a basic wire frame and then a simple black plastic frame. I was looking at a fun pink plastic frame but I just couldn't convince myself to get them. The black plastic ones were as about adventurous as I was willing to go...

Then I had to find more "grown-up" ones....just in case.
