Thank you for those kind words Barbara, and it has been my great joy to find this site and find there are so many who are returning to/maintaining the Habit.
Praise God for all who give witness, who wear with honour their Habit..........

I have noticed on Catholic Discussion Sites, which in the main have contributors from the USA, that the habit does seem to be on the increase in the USA. I have been following this thread almost from its beginning and have been delighted by the variety of habits and so many young novices too. I was talking to my director last visit and commented on this and the sadness I feel that the habit seems to be almost died out here in Australia - along with vocations to the religious life; however, I further commented, we usually follow the USA in Australia and this does give hope that the habit will be seen again regularly as it was in the past. Let us pray!

God bless - Barb

I LOVE these sisters. Daughters of Charity FTW!

Dominicans are my first favorite, though. DCs are the second!

YAY!!! I miss NOLA, especially the food. I watched a documentary on the hurricane (Katrina) today for school...hijacking thread, I know.

Prayers for your nun run. When do you leave?

I think my great grandmother was married there! It's a beautiful church (if I'm remembering correctly. It's been a while! :( )

Their habits look so Carmelite-like, but just a different color (black instead of brown). :)
