Church Militant Nominations?

Nihil Obstat

Recommended Posts

Hypothetically speaking, if someone were to ask me right now, "Irenaeus, who would you nominate for Church Militant?" this is how I would answer:

FuturePriest387

Byzantine

arfink

Basilisa Marie

EmilyAnn

DiscerningCatholic

mysisterisalittlesister

Spem in alium

To Jesus Through Mary
Seems like a good list as a start. Did I miss anyone cool? I only paid attention to profiles with 500+ posts.
Hypothetically of course.

Also I nominate that Nihil Obstat guy to be made a mod again, because he was super cool that one time and thought it was pretty wicked. :| And he would abuse his powers significantly less than Jason (who, to be fair, cannot really help it, because moderating while hungry is a dangerous proposition, and we all know how often he is hungry).

And just to close things off, here is my favourite painting.

Is your name Irenaeus? That's the coolest name ever! I would love to have that as my own name, except I can tell by the pronunciation of the first two letters I would stutter it about and I would be terrible at introducing myself (Which is no different than my real name, actually).

Strictly speaking, no, but in a broader context, perhaps. :|
My actual, legal name is not Irenaeus, but online I go by Irenaeus more often than my real name, and in a certain sense, perhaps it is rather silly, I consider that name part of who I am.

Also if I ever need a fake name, that is my go-to one. So if you ever hear about Irenaeus Saintonge being arrested for subversive activities, you know to come spring me.

Nothing against you personally. I rather enjoy your posts and you seem to be a very nice person. I just thought it might be more prudent if that tiny little crisis from earlier in the month were more buried in your post archives first.
I do not make the criteria though, so that is not my call to make. :) I am just some random guy with too many opinions and ridiculously good looks.

If I hear a man named Irenaeus Saintonge being arrested for subversive activities I will hike to your jail if I have to in order to speak with you and all your bearded glory. If you have no beard then bailing you out is off the table. No beard = No bail, unless of course you were caught in a shaving fight or something, in which case I will bail you. But it will come with the cost of having me sleep in your house during the winter because I like the snow. We can trade martial knowledge during this period if you like. It will be much like The Last Samurai, except less cool because you're Canadian.

Oh dear Lord, I thought that said "share marital knowledge". :|

If you are ever in the area, we will hang out. And I have no intention of shaving anytime in the foreseeable future, including any subversive activities I may or may not have a hand in.

Ah, what the heck. The hypothetically-speaking Irenaeus also nominates the171. Since this is all hypothetical and whatnot.

I freely share my years of experience in marital knowledge online, I see no reason to stop in real life. When I visit we can talk about your relationship problems and I will heal them with my knowledge that only a twenty year marriage could have. Don't ask me how I got it.

And definitely. Though I can't honestly say I can see myself going to Canada anytime soon. Maybe a future vacation?

You forgot to nominate Mitt Romney. Remember, if you don't nominate Mitt Romney for Church Militant, that's equivalent to a nomination of Barack Obama for Church Militant :cyclops:

If you are into the great outdoors, it really does not get any more great than western Canada.

I disagree. New Zealand is the best place on earth, though I suppose this is stunning considering it is on the American continent. The outdoors are okay, but I'm really not interested in camping. I have found camping to be a miserable experience. I'm a one day hike person, especially when there are bears around.

And in the last picture, I know that picture by heart. I see it every day in Kansas. Minus the mountains, western Kansas is essentially one big farm with hay, wheat, corn, the occasional cotton field, and a lot of cattle.
