What Does The Church Teach About That Antichirst? Could It Be Obama?

Everything Obama stand for is just wrong and twisted! It's so crazy! Everything from Abortion to his socialist nature to his history with Islamic terrorists. It may seem crazy to suggest this, but I wouldn't put too much doubt on it. I see it as a real possibility.

now if you're talking about an antichrist, then here is a good place to start reading: http://www.newadvent...then/01559a.htm

(Greek Antichristos).
In composition anti has different meanings: antibasileus denotes a king who fills an interregnum; antistrategos, a propraetor; anthoupatos, a proconsul; in Homer antitheos denotes one resembling a god in power and beauty, while in other works it stands for a hostile god. Following mere analogy one might interpret antichristos as denoting one resembling Christ in appearance and power; but it is safer to define the word according to its biblical and ecclesiastical usage.

Biblical meaning of the word

The word Antichrist occurs only in the Johannine Epistles; but there are so-called real parallelisms to these occurrences in the Apocalypse, in the Pauline Epistles, and less explicit ones in the Gospels and the Book of Daniel.

While it may be tempting to interpret Scripture and apply the anti-Christ title to someone who is bad.....it is very dangerous to make such a claim without profound reasoning and backing.

The Church is the interpreter of Scripture. So we should be very wary of making our own interpretations that the Church has not made. :crusader2:

from my link above:

What then is the true ecclesiastical concept of Antichrist? Francisco Suárez maintains that it is of faith that Antichrist is an individual person, a signal enemy of Christ. This excludes the contention of those who explain Antichrist either as the whole collection of those who oppose Jesus Christ, or as the Papacy. ...

The individual person of Antichrist will not be a demon, as some of the ancient writers believed; nor will he be the person of the devil incarnated in the human nature of Antichrist. He will he a human person, perhaps of Jewish extraction, if the explanation of Genesis 49:17, together with that of Dan's omission in the catalogue of the tribes, as found in the Apocalypse, be correct. It must be kept in mind that extra-Scriptural tradition furnishes us no revealed supplement to the Biblical data concerning Antichrist. While these latter are sufficient to make the believer recognize the "man of sin" at the time of his coming, the lack of any additional reliable revelation should put us on our guard against the daydreams of the Irvingites, the Mormons, and other recent proclaimers of new revelations.
Well if he isn't the antichrist, hes just one heck of a scary man. He's all tangled in socialism and radical Islamists.

I don't need to watch the video to be convinced his ideology is very, very misguided. :)

True, I wholeheartedly agree he is bad news.

The good news is that despite what he does, he cannot stop us from becoming saints. :saint:

Only our-self may stop us from fully loving God. :crusader2:

KnightofChrist

He is a anti-christ, he is anti-christian, he is anti-catholic. But not the Antichrist.

Here are some Catholic teachings on the Antichrist and the time of his reign.

Annie it's very important to be an educated citizen. Please do not get your education from YouTube videos. You know how there's all those anti-Catholic youtube videos with lots of inaccuracies and misinterpretations? unfortunately this is that type of video.

There is plenty to disagree strongly with the president about, without indulging in crackpot theories that have no basis in reality.

As a conservative it's VERY SCARY to me to see fellow conservatives going down the path of conspiracies and secret plots and other nuttiness. If the GOP becomes associated with crazy theories, we will never be able to get anyone to take the pro-life movement seriously. Honestly this is why people are able to claim that if you're against Obama, you're a racist. The only motivation people have to create videos like this Annie is because they are scared of a president who doesn't look like them and who has very different life experiences. They're scared of other religions (that's why they make a big deal about Islam).

Muslims aren't scary Annie. Do you know any? I really encourage you to find out if there is a Muslim group on campus and get to know them.

First of all you can tell the video is inaccurate because now we do have the president's birth certificate. The long form original has been released.

We know the president isn't a Muslim because it's well established he attended a Christian church for 2 decades, long before he first went into political office. In fact this is used against him since his Christian pastor is crazypants.

If the president as an adult chose to take his biological father's name, that's no different than someone entering religious life and taking a new name. That doesn't mean the nuns are operating under a false identity. Did you know that nuns keep their birth name legally? So their Social Security cards, birth certificates and driver's licenses all bear their birth name.. In the United States you do not have to complete a legal name change in order to be known by a different name. It's just your preference.

My favorite part of the video is when it says the president "allegedly" attended Harvard and was president of the Law Review. These are well-established facts that you can't manufacture. Governor Romney, Senator John McCain, Governor Sarah Palin, and President George W Bush all never released their college transcripts or records relating to their education during their campaigns. President Bush's transcripts were leaked without his permission.

There are a great many things that will happen along with the arrival of the Antichrist. There are a few elements that show up in essentially every private revelation, universal enough that it would be rather hasty to reject it out of hand. Since none of those elements are present, it is pretty safe to conclude that Obama, while a very bad influence on modern culture, is not the literal Antichrist.

Elaborating on the Muslim thing, Obama (even if he's a Muslim) he's not a real one. From what I understand, Muslims are pro-life. And this might sound wrong to some people, but I wouldn't mind having a REAL Muslim as a president.

Not all Muslims are terrorists... Lol. I know some!

Frankly, I will not agree that Obama is a Christian either. :smile3: His actions indicate pretty clearly, IMO, that he cares about nothing besides power and big government. He believes in himself- not God. He believes in violence and coercion- not sacrifice.
