AnneLine Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 (edited) i read 2 page of a rulebook gotten and print from the web. No package in the mail yet with the big rulebooks lol. Hold on what about all the fantasy football magazines I bought and read and memorized this summer? What about rereading? How close are we to 100,000? CCC, with your help, as of last night we were up to 129,234 pages and heading for 140,000!!!! As of that point, 534 books documented read by my count.... and we have 26 readers. AND MORE of EACH as of today!!!!! I'll add your additional 2 pages next count. Glad we have inspired you to buy & read -- and MEMORIZE -- written material, CCC!!!! :rotfl: I believe Byz said magazines over 50 pages count... but you'll have to look over the middle of the thread to find out for sure... I'll count the pages if you give me the mag title and date, and approx. # ok? Like this: Rules Are For Breaking Magazine, May 2006, 53 pages Rereading is COOOL! So are audiobooks while working out! We are a liberal bunch here!!!! We just want everybody to have fun!!!!! And we NEED more guy readers!!!!!!! Edited August 28, 2013 by AnneLine
arfink Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 We don't have very many guys on this forum I'm afraid... mostly nunnabes...
AnneLine Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Well... hunting is a sport.. .you go hunt us up some!!!!! There must be a book about how to do this..... GO READ!!!!!
Deus te Amat Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 You never know what you're going to find when you open a library book. If you read this, skip the "silly" parts. Tinker -- Wen Spencer -- 438 The story itself was really good though.
cmaD2006 Posted August 28, 2013 Posted August 28, 2013 Welcome, CMaria! We'll look forward to getting your books for the count. We need name, author, and page numbers if you want pages counted. I know that names, authors and pg numbers are needed :) hence the "I'll give specifics soon"
cartermia Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I have been gone for a while reading... The boxcar children!!! by a bunch of different authors (read Wikipedia...http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Boxcar_Children_novels ) read all of them on the list on that link (154 books in total  ) the books are between 140-190 so I found the median (~165 a piece) total 25,410 pages for this series count and I also read the nancy drew series  !!!!!! I am just going to give you the link againhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Nancy_Drew_books total books:239 I am just going to average them around 190 so... this series is 45,410 pages estimated total! aren't I evil when I am quite
cartermia Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I love to have people eat my dust!!! But somebody start reading!!!
AnneLine Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 (edited) Hey, CarterMia.... the monkeys and llama are rebelling. You really do need to LIST the books if you want us to count 'em. That's what we have told everyone. We'll take a sum total for the number of pages, but we need you to do the list. (I'll say it -- AnneLine is a MEAN SPITTING LLAMA!!!!) I'll plan to do the full count update tomorrow to give you (and anyone else) time to get those titles and authors and pages in here.... and then the final list will be after competition ends!!!!! Wheeee!!!!! Edited August 29, 2013 by AnneLine
xTrishaxLynnx Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 A Great and Terrible Beauty- 403 pgs I seem to remember really liking that trilogy, but this book is the one that stood out to me most. I may have to re-read the whole thing someday.
AnneLine Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 It's not too late to document books read between June 8 and September 1 at midnight!!!!! Just give us the name and author -- and if you want, the number of pages.... we're at 428 books and 133805 pages, with a little over 6000 still to be documented by their readers..... We have done this with just 28 readers... and we want the rest of you to get in on the end of this if you wish!!!! Maybe.... is it possible? Could we could hit 150,000 pages????
cmaD2006 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 Using Amazon for pg numbers: a) Crazy love, Francis Chan, 205 pgs b) Embracing Obscurity, Anonymous (I'm serious), 224 pgs c) Voyage of the Dawn Treader, CS Lewis, 256 pgs d) The Silver Chair, CS Lewis, 256 pgs e) God Is All Joy: The Life of St. Teresa of the Andes, Jennifer Moorcroft, 163 pgs I also read 1/2 of a spanish book on St. John Vianney (the whole book was over 600 pgs long). Can that count? (I got to chapter 30 something before I got tired of reading about St. John Vianney in 1/2 hr chunks, and it was time to move on to book (b)). I can get a precise page count tonight. It looks like articles count? I read a whole bunch of articles while on retreat. I won't count the exercises because I really didn't read the whole book, I prayed most of it though :). I'll get the page counts from the articles tonight (I guestimate at least 50).
MissyP89 Posted August 29, 2013 Posted August 29, 2013 I'm No Angel by Kylie Bisutti, 304 pgs In progress: Wildfire by Sarah Micklem, read approx 300 pages so far of 517.
Chrysophylax Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 Um, I read the TASK force tutor training handbook which is about 20 pages.
AnneLine Posted August 30, 2013 Posted August 30, 2013 OK, tallying these up as of 8pm PDT tonight. Will have an updated list within an hour or less unless I run into a problem. In answer to a few questions over last days.... CCC, I'll count your 2 pagers as books, but I think Byz has stricter rules on what equals a book.... and pages are pages as far as I am concerned.... The171, feel free to list all the books in a group on one thread if you want -- saves both of us some pages. (Would be a horrible thing to have the thread closed for hitting 50 pages just before we end the competition!!!) And CarterMia, so far you haven't given me titles, so I'm going to count the last 2 series you proposed as to be documented... you have till the end of the competition to get them counted...... YES, we are having fun... .and we are not yet done!!!!!!
