to the ladies..choosing husband

I want to know how important money and stability is to girls in choosing their husband. If you had a holy man on fire for Christ, but he had a career that would entail financial struggles (most likely forever), and you would have to struggle to support your children, would you still go through with it???

and add to that, he saved sex for you

What does he do that's not stable? Is it him, or the job? Why does he want that job?

I'd be much more concerned about his character than the money. If he was unable to hold a steady job or succeed, I'd probably not want him.

But if he himself was dependable, and the work was actually worth the struggles it would entail, I'd have no qualms about the scenario.

Many women would actually enjoy struggling side by side with their husbands. This guy just needs to find a woman who isn't afraid to work and loves teamwork.

Here's a question for you:

What's more important? Love or money? When you answer that question, you know where your heart lies.

Don't believe anything a woman says about this. It all depends on his abs and gluts. ;)

Love is and always be the reason. If it entitile me keeping a job to help support the family I'd do it, no question.

Let me add a little experience here for you.

You could say that I married my husband for money. Of course, after we got married, I saw he had none ;)

Ok..ok..I know..I know... a poor attempt at humor.

Brother Adam and I got married a little under a year and a half ago. When I chose to marry him, I knew that life was a twisting and winding road with no guarantees. I knew that in order to get both of us through college that there would be points in time where I would be the sole breadwinner. By marrying him I accepted responsibilities. I accepted the responsibility to be a wife, to support my husband 100% no matter what. I accepted the responsibility of lower-class society. That meant me having a job, and looking for a job when we moved.

We moved on blind faith. By aggreeing to the move I agreed to take on responsiblity as the sole breadwinner. It's a choice. I chose to love my husband, and in doing that I chose to, at this time in our lives, to be the sole breadwinner. God's will shall be done, whether or not I like it. Did I choose my husband because of monetary issues? (My husband and I paid for our wedding, I did a lot of stuff at home, i.e. dress by my grandmother, making the bouquets and flower girl basket). Did I choose love?

You decide.

Yeah...I forgot to mention:

I married my husband for his hard abs and gluts...then I discovered he didn't have any ;)

I hope women don't choose husbands by money, then I'm doomed.

Unfortunately, some women do marry men for their money.

 rev

the only kind of girls who choose guys by how big their wallet is aren't the kind of girls you guys would want, at least I don't think so

When I got married, my husband and I were in social work caring for retarded adults. When you have 3 kids under 5 its rough. You get used to second hand clothes, and both working full time at county jobs and still qualifying for food stamps. You get tired of not being able to afford to fix a leaky roof, or praying the transmission of the car lasts another year. You get tired of carrying groceries in the dead of winter, or not being able to afford new shoes for your husband. You get tired of explaining to your kids why other kids get twice as much as they did for Christmas, or your kids can't have starter jackets, or go to the movies and order pizza.
Its not the big things that go wrong, it is the accumulation of little things that never end, that wear you down and can break your heart.

It can be done. But it takes two very special committed people to do it.

Ah, the age old question.... My husband and I were fairly stable financially when we married, but after that, we didn't have any spare money at all... he was in grad school and I was teaching in a private school. I think this:
I'd be much more concerned about his character than the money. If he was unable to hold a steady job or succeed, I'd probably not want him.

But if he himself was dependable, and the work was actually worth the struggles it would entail, I'd have no qualms about the scenario.
pretty much sums up my feeling...

Love is uber important... but you have to feed the children, too.

I wanna get married.

Someone today told me to wait until I'm done with undergrad...I don't wanna... :sadder:

Well...I'll just seek to do God's will and leave the rest to Him...

Please God, let your will be my will.

Love always comes before money. Always. But I would have to consider why he isn't getting enough money to support a family. Is it because he cannot hold a job? Why can't he hold a job?
