Didacus
Star Trek will eventually win; after all, "Resistance is futile!"
The majority vote might not be desireable in this voting thread. i believe that preference of Star Wars over Star Trek is in direct proportion to the maturity level of the voter multiplied by the factor k. (K = general knowledge of science and feasability towards realistic future). The maturity level is seen as the characters in Star Trek are far more developped and deep, whereas in Star Wars they are simple charicatures of wannabe heroes and villains that appeal to dreamy younger audiences. A mature man/woman of knowledge will recongnize the nuances behind the characters within the context of their struggles when enjoying StarTrek. The knowledge level is evident to anyone with a grade 10 physics class. Star Wars has almost no basis of science fiction other than the neat 'booms' and 'crashes' of ship and lasers. Where Star Trek bases its fundamental futuristic 'technology' on real history, science and theories. Even the terminology is present and can be researched and proven accurate within Star Trek episodes, and thus they serve as eductaional tools as well. It is thus obvious in this poll that those with a combination of maturity and knowledge of science are in the minority in this forum, and nothing else is proven. toodaloo....
