Abd Al-Aziz: Well, do you remember what we just said about the Second Vatican Council in 1965 and about Christianizing the world? It was agreed upon and pre-arranged. John Paul II prepared a five-year plan, on the eve of the third millennium, Christianize the world. His address in 1995 was based on the assumption that by the year 2000, the entire world would be Christianized. Since the plan was not accomplished, the World Council of Churches assigned this mission to the US in January 2001, since the US is the world's unrivaled military power. They named the decade between 2001-2010 "the age of eradicating evil" – "evil" referring to Islam and Muslims.
This is beyond riddiculous!
I can't believe intelligent people, including Islamists, would believe this carp.

Madame Vengier

This thread has been going since July 2005! Impressive. It's a topic that never gets old. The issue of radical Islam is something that we all need to get informed on. As someone wrote back in one of the posts early on...the time is coming when there will be a fight for survival...not about issues and morals and religious beliefs...but basic survival. Sounds ominous but we need to face it and prepare for it.
Islam is intrinsically violent, but what scares me more are the Westerners that blindly defend it as peaceful.
Truer words were never spoken.

And I would add, those who don't want to talk about Islam AT ALL. Even Christians. Even Jews.

It's the denial, avoiding, ducking, dodging and weaving that is even more scary that the terrorists. Personally, I believe that the reason it took close to 10 years to defeat Hitler is because people wouldn't TALK about Hitler or the Nazis. I can just imagine people of the day sitting around talking about how Germans were nice people and they couldn't POSSIBLY be allowing Jew-killing. Therefore, because it was un-imaginable, it was ignored...until Hitler took over most of Europe and had moved into Africa.

An excerpt from cleric Yunis Al-Astal's Friday Sermon (11 April 2008):

"Today, Rome is the capital of the Catholics, or the Crusader capital, which has declared its hostility to Islam, and has planted the brothers of apes and pigs (i.e., the Jews) in Palestine in order to prevent the reawakening of Islam - this capital of theirs will be an advanced post for the Islamic conquests, which will spread through Europe in its entirety, and then will turn to the two Americas, and even Eastern Europe."

Well, the silly propaganda aside (picking out news stories about certain hateful imams is poor logic that can be used just as easily against Christianity), I agree that Islam as a religion does not teach God is Love and promotes hatred.

However, Muslims are individuals and the vast majority of them are deceived as to what Islam is, just as the vast majority of Masons are deceived about Masonry is, and (to bring this much closer to home) the vast majority of non-Catholics are deceived about what Catholicism is. In spite of this, many non-Catholic Christians are awesome followers of Christ, many Masons are great citizens (and Christians), and most Muslims are peaceful and simply desire to obey God as best they know how.

Granted, in Muslim countries it can be a different story. Same is true in Catholic countries.

I wouldn't be so quick to dismiss the posts of television programming in Islamic countries as "silly propaganda." These are the lies and hatred that are actually being fed to people by the Islamic media. This is what is on "mainstream" television in Islamic nations. And no, there is really nothing equivalent on this scale coming from Christians.
Could you imagine, for instance, FOX (or any of the big American networks, for that matter) airing a "Christian" kiddie show in which the cutesy-costumed host constantly shrieks murderous hatred against Muslims or Jews?

And no, I haven't heard of anything similar going on in Catholic countries (at least not from the Catholics!)

My point isn't to pass judgment on individual Muslim persons, but rather I'm getting sick of of the pc drivel I see from a lot of posters about how Islam is really not that different from Christianity or Catholicism. While it may be politically-correct, such nonsense is false, and in reality does no one a favor.
