Carrie
Would you two be able to bear chidlren?
Why wouldn't they be able to? Noel is young enough to bear children. And men create new sperm all the time. It's not like a woman's eggs, which age.
Mrs. Bro. Adam
Sperm also decreases as men age. Why did God institute marriage?

Norseman82
Well, there are a lot of men who are still single in their 40s or beyond. If they want to have children, they are going to have to look for someone younger.
Mrs. Bro. Adam
Again: Why did God institute marriage?
Brother Adam
You can throw out all the emotionally driven responses you want, but it isn't going to go anywhere unless we have some type of definitive teaching on the Church. There is something that naturally offends the senses about the extremely old and the extremely young marrying which is why I hold the position I do about 'outside of a generation'. If you have some positive proof that God would call a 102 year old and a 12 year old (12 is the limit of the Catholic Church in some countries for how old a person must be) I'll change my position. Carrie
Hmm, i somehow recall Sarah not thinking she would be able to bear children. Can anyone say miracle of God? Anything is possible with God. Why place limits on that?
Mrs. Bro. Adam
God also gave her a child to fulfill an oath/covenant with Abraham. And they were only ten years apart, if I remember correctly.

Jaime
1. Joseph was still given as caretaker in their marriage, unless you have gone Fundamentalist on us and believe that they had children together.
I haven't gone fundamentalist. Joseph and Mary were arranged to be married prior to the "Oh by the way, you're going to be the Mother of God" news. I'm simply supporting Hsmom's position that it is a cultural difference. Nor am I saying that I'm comfortable with a vast age difference thing. But Hsmom is correct, it is cultural.
Again, emotional responses aren't going to get us anywhere. All things are possible with God, but not all things are in the will of God.
How is this an emotional response. If we close ourselves off to the possibility, then we are not fully leaving ourselves open to the will of God. Capice?
