Ash Wednesday
thanks ash.
No problem, yo! Those disco/minimalist churches are EVERYWHERE in the Seattle area. I think some of you people's heads would explode at the sight of them.

franciscanheart
this picture looks really weird (the coloring is weird) but it gives you an idea of the high ceilings and beautiful marble floors. and i found this on another site: (our organ is very well known) "St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Dallas is home to Schudi organ, Opus 6. Since 1978 this instrument has gained international acclaim for its commanding sounds. Michael Lindner heads the music program of the church today, succeeding the fondly remembered Paul Riedo. Click your mouse on the small photo for more photos and on "Music" for a listing of recordings available. 3 Manual, ESC, 38 stops." Ash Wednesday
It looks like a cross between a goliath ham radio antenna, a football stadium, and a Finnish sauna!

EcceNovaFacioOmni
By the way, what is so inherently evil about cushioned seats? There is a very good parish I attend on occasion with cushioned seats.
Ash Wednesday
The parish I grew up in had cushioned seats... I can see it now, standing before God on the seat of judgement, asking me if I sat on cushioned seats in church. Or going to confession, "Bless me father, for I have sinned. I accuse myself of having sat on cushioned seats five times in the last month." *inserts Black Adder reference here* Maybe we're supposed to be sitting on spikes? Or hydraulic ones that shoot up just for the Penitential Rite?

Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
cushioned seats are not a sin. they are just kind of ugly, and protestant-esqe. plus they convey the message that one should be comfortable in church Edited March 28, 2006 by Extra ecclesiam nulla salus
Ash Wednesday
Whoever said a church was supposed to be a place of discomfort? They're padded seats. Not recliners or thermo-massage.
