CatherineM
I'd want something less gold and more ancient looking.
zunshynn
I like those... though that third one looks a little too office-ish to me. Just out of curiousity, is http://www.portableprayerlifechapels.com/ the first thing that comes up when you google "home chapel" ? CatherineM
I was thinking about something that looked like it had been carved right out of the rock in a Catacomb.
CatherineM
I also love doing mosaics, so I'd probably do the entire floor in them.

Ours will be much more ... humble.
I like those... though that third one looks a little too office-ish to me. I showed them to my husband, and he said, "Those are cool, but isn't this the kind of thing you want to do yourself?" Then he said he definitely wants small pews and kneelers in ours (which will be the size of a small bedroom) so we can pray there. My husband is not particularly vocal about his faith, so I just love it when I learn he's been thinking cool things about what we'd have in our chapel. InHisLove726
I would love to have a personal chapel! I answered "no" on question 2 because I was thinking outdoor chapel, and I'm not sure I would want to handle the responsibility of making sure the Blessed Sacrament was safe. If I could, somehow, make absolutely sure, I would definitely want to have it, such as an indoor chapel. On another note, I was watching "The Nun" on EWTN yesterday and Marta's family had a private chapel with the Tabernacle. They lived in rural country, so, not much chance of the Blessed Sacrament being stolen there. Edited August 10, 2009 by InHisLove726
CatherineM
I love outdoor chapels. It reminds me of the one at my summer camp growing up.

jeffpugh
I answered yes and yes. I was considering it a long time, especially since I'm considering the diaconate. I would need to do Eucharist runs to the sick and imprisoned, so the chapel could double as a place to store some hosts once and a while. Plus, I have some priest friends, so maybe I could convince one to come over once a month for mass, and maybe a dinner or something for the favour And of course, I know about the bishop's permission being needed. That might be the make-or-break factor 'cause I dunno who I will have for a bishop down the road... Slappo
I have to add to my response... right now I'm living in an apartment literally right next to the rectory at my parish (i could spit out my window and hit it), and on the other side of me is the parish day chapel which has a tabernacle. The main church is a handful of yards away. I actually park my car in the rectory garage... So in my current living conditions I have better then a chapel in my house... I have a chapel with daily mass said on one side and a resident priest on the other!
