Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 +JMJ Sorry, a little random here, but I just realized that we named our two kittens very Franciscan names without realizing it. We have Frankie (short for Francis, yes?), our little boy cat who is a loveable push-over. And our little Antoinette (feminized version of Anthony) who is very spunky and doesn't take any croutons from anyone. I found this amusing.
OnlySunshine Posted March 25, 2011 Posted March 25, 2011 I really think I have an attraction to the Franciscans. Ever since I met the Franciscans of the Renewal, I've had a love for the Order of St. Francis. Even the Poor Clare Colettine nuns with their bare feet and austere lifestyle are absolutely gorgeous. And I've never met one Franciscan who wasn't completely full of joy!

We like it all!
franciscanheart Posted March 30, 2011 Author Posted March 30, 2011 I think of Papa Francis and Mama Mary when striving to be more ladylike. I love them.
OnlySunshine Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011
I love the Franciscans of the Immaculate!
Yes, the Sisters are wonderful! I contacted Sr. Maria Consolatrice, their vocation director, and she was very sweet. If I didn't have to worry about my depression, I would consider discerning with them, but they are a mendicant order and so are unable to accept people who need medication for the rest of their lives. Nonetheless, I would definitely recommend them.
Piccoli Fiori JMJ Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 +JMJ Our OFM Conv Associate Pastor now knows that I am going to enter the Poor Clares. I find this amusing Also, his province provides spiritual direction/confession for the monastery.
FutureSister2009 Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I never knew so many different Franciscan Orders existed! Actually, I didn't realize how many Religious Orders existed in general until I began discernment! But my Franciscan Order, as everyone knows, are the Franciscan Sisters Missionaries of the Heart of Jesus and of Mary Immaculate. The fact that it's a Marian Order makes all the difference for me.
InPersonaChriste Posted April 5, 2011 Posted April 5, 2011 I think their are even less Benedictines on here. Sorry to be off topic but i thought I would throw that in. Plenty of Dominicans though,

Tally Marx Posted April 7, 2011 Posted April 7, 2011 I had thought I had posted here before, but I can't find anything by me. So just in case I didn't.... I am Franciscan!!! With just the tiniest pinch of Dominican thrown in.
