I love this picture! Wow! I'm making this my backround on my compurter!
EmilyAnn Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I'm not going for a community that does the whole wedding dress thing but I think it's an avvesome practice. Though my nuns have their rings engraved with their monastic names and 'Jesus' which I just love - it definitely appeals to the romantic in me.
EmilyAnn Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Camo is ugly. My housemate is into airsoft and when he hasn't been to a game in a while he tends to dress up in camo and sit in the living room and pretend to shoot everyone who walks past. At least I know that I'll be wearing a flattering colour (black) for the rest of my life.
Strictlyinkblot Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 Black is very slimming. And it doesn't show the stains like the Dominican habit.
LadyOfSorrows Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012
Yay! Now they can be added to the list .. Also the O.Carm Carmel of Mary (scroll down), though they wear it at First Profession .. and by the way, I notice differing from the discalced, they take the black veil then. Also they have a new site now, http://www.fargodioc...ons/carmelmary/
Carmel of Mary in North Dakota doesn't have that tradition anymore. They discontinued it a few years ago, I believe.

Lil'Monster Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 I love camo.......it reminds me of my Dad very much! he loves to hunt!! Also camo reminds me of my late Grandpa.....he loved to hunt too.....
Ah yes, but you cannot bleach black..... and surprisingly, white shows relatively little... though it could be because spot cleaning white is so simple. Sorry.... hopeless Dominican fan.
Carmelshrimp Posted March 22, 2012 Posted March 22, 2012 At least Carmelite brown doesn't show the coffee stains. Or melted chocolate. Speaking of chocolate.....
I moaned to friend about lack of chocolate. "Offer it up" she said, helpfully. Felt tempted to say I'd like to have some to be ABLE to offer it up, but felt she'd think I was being facetious. As if I would!

Carmelshrimp Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 Only if they're covered in chocolate. Don't really do cute and fluffy - it's my nasty cynical nature showing itself I expect.
AnneLine Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 (edited) would you consider... chocolate point siamese? http://www.we-are-si...nt-siamese.html "The Chocolate Point Siamese is different from the Seal Point in that the body is ivory with little to no shading and the points are a deep chocolate brown, warm in tone. The Chocolate Point is a genetic variation of the Seal Point. The similarities of the Chocolates and the Seals can make it difficult to distinguish the two types by a novice, just as it is between a Blue Point and a Lilac Point. A good breeder can determine the difference quiet easily. Interesting with the Chocolates is that in the early days of breeding, these types of cats had occurred in litters of Seal Points and were dismissed as bad seals. A group of enthusiasts devoted to these Siamese took the challenge of developing standards for the Chocolates. They emphasized that the milk chocolate points were the aim of the breed and hence the specific breed came into existence. " (highlighting by AnneLine) I am so glad that novices can tell seals from chocolates. I would hate to think that they might eat meat on a Friday by accident. Yes, I am BAAAD. Edited March 23, 2012 by AnneLine
AnneLine Posted March 23, 2012 Posted March 23, 2012 I always loved the comment in The Nun' Story that the nuns in the Congo looked like siamese cats when lined up for their showers. Yup... I can see that.
