Good Heavens, Cartermia, how are you reading that much L'Engle in a sitting?

Byz... I hope you're using something like an excel spread sheet to keep yourself sane.....

I wish we had done this by numbers of pages read..... would resolve so many probs... but we're still having fun, Byz!!!!!

It is indeed impressive. I don't think I could even read that much Chesterton or Tolkien!

I have a little sticky thing on my computer that I keep updated.

Using pages would solve several problems, but I fear that others would turn up anyway...

I still feel that page count would be fairer....   but I'm cool with what we are doing....

Of course... you could ADD a page count option... wouldn't be that hard for people to document... and Excel would make it easy to calculate... if there is interest (and buy in from the participants!) I'll volunteer to do the page count calculations.....

We could do both, very easily...... keeping everyone happy!

OH dear! I am falling behind! I'm not worried though! (What's that thing they say about slow and steady? ;) )

Ok, 3 more.

The Crimson Thread, a retelling of 'Rumpelstiltskin' by Suzanne Weyn

Montmorency, Theif, liar, gentleman?  by Eleanor Updale

Counterfeit Son by Eleaine Alphin

The last one was a bit dark, and not very well written. The second one was really well written, but the morals of the main character are a bit questionable (he is a theif, but he kind of reforms at the end...). The first one was very good, a nice twist on the original!

Ok. I re-read the first Brotherband Chronicles book, The Outcasts, by John Flanagan. Also by John Flanagan the first and second rangers apprentice books, The Ruins of Gorlan and The Burning Bridge. I also read The Foundling by Georgette Heyer. I love that book!

We have very similar tastes in books.

and very well, I will play this silly little game.

Quantam Prophecy's series, all books but three (2)

Superhuman Series (3)

Rangers Apprentice Book 10 (1)

When I get bored, I pick up YA fiction, and don't put it down until I'm done 2+ hours later.

Hi all,

Byz, if no one else has volunteered, I'll keep track of your count....

If there is interest, I'm also working on a way for us to track both pages read AND books read.... so if you will want to track your pages, you might get those numbers ready for when we're ready to start tracking those!  I want to confirm with Byz that he likes what I am suggesting before putting it up here.....

Cartermia, page counting would probably be helpful for you as you have a goal of 2013 pages (took me a while to figger out why that odd number... AnneLine can be dense.....

If Byz hasn't said anything further by this evening, I'll update the list.

Will be heading to a funeral soon, so won't be back for a few hours.... and who knows if Phatmass will let me in... last night was a no go.

Maybe we should suggest to the Phorum it go off and read a book and get a little rest?

With the help of my trusty excel spreadsheet, I will add up totals tonight if I don't see anything further from Byz...

Byz:            The Lord of the Rings

Haha, no time for reading anything but service books and Bible passages!

With the completion of Return of the King, I have completed Lord of the Rings. It'd be nice if that counted for two points, though.

By all! You'll be in my prayers!

After conferring with Byz, here's what we are thinking:

We will keep tracking per book count.   You only get credit for books if you name Book & Author.

We will also track pages per book, Just include the number of pages in the book as you finish, or send 'em in now.

(If you don't include pages, you won't get no page credit.)   Easy!

BIG NEWS!!!!

We're offering TWO PRIZES (nice used books to be mailed to you!) at the end of the summer --

One prize for MOST BOOKS READ

and

A second prize for MOST PAGES READ.

This will make it a little fairer for the people who are reading a few giant books!!!!

Will submit current standings shortly!

OK... here it is!!!!

Note that I'm out in front on the pages... but only because only LWS has sent in any numbers!   If you aren't sure on a book you've returned to the library, put in an estimate for those (or look it up on Amazon or something).

We're getting a LOT of reading done!!!!

To update your numbers, just do a new post and/or cut & paste your section into the screen & give me the update!

Thanks, Byz, for starting this challenge!!!!

In process: some Star Trek TNG novel, the name escapes me. It's not very memorable. Next on the docket: Guards! Guards! by Terry Pratchett.
