Byzantine Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 I'm being mocked. Hurt my feels. :cry4: I'm sorry :( Henceforth your score shall have no more questionability than Nihil's. :console: I've read 7 issues of Axe Cop and 6 of Dr. McNinja. Do those count? Sorry, but on further review your score will have to be displayed as Nihil's until you provide titles. Finished Job. AnneLine Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Byz... that's crazy! I just finished Madeleine L'Engle's Meet the Austins - as a period piece it is 100% accurate -- reminds me of my own 1960's childhood... (yup, AnneLine is ANCIENT!), but it is getting a little dated... I've read Many Waters in the past -- it is not one of my favorite L'Engle books -- some of her others are MUCH better. (A Wind in the Door is a favorite...) But it's OK as a fantasy..... just can't treat it as a scripture commentary! Currently reading another of her books, The Arm of the Starfish -- jury still out.... AND I just read Book of Joshua from the Bible.... so 2 more for me... :)

AnneLine Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Good Heavens, Cartermia, how are you reading that much L'Engle in a sitting? Byz... I hope you're using something like an excel spread sheet to keep yourself sane..... I wish we had done this by numbers of pages read..... would resolve so many probs... but we're still having fun, Byz!!!!!

I don't think I could even read that much Chesterton or Tolkien! I have a little sticky thing on my computer that I keep updated. Using pages would solve several problems, but I fear that others would turn up anyway...
Catholicterp7 Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Total 23 "The Adventure of the Mazarin Stone" (told in third-person) "The Problem of Thor Bridge" "The Adventure of the Creeping Man" "The Adventure of the Sussex Vampire" "The Adventure of the Three Garridebs" "The Adventure of the Illustrious Client" "The Adventure of the Three Gables" "The Adventure of the Blanched Soldier" (narrated by Holmes; Watson does not appear) "The Adventure of the Lion's Mane" (narrated by Holmes; Watson does not appear) "The Adventure of the Retired Colourman" "The Adventure of the Veiled Lodger" "The Adventure of Shoscombe Old Place"

I have a little sticky thing on my computer that I keep updated. Using pages would solve several problems, but I fear that others would turn up anyway... I still feel that page count would be fairer.... but I'm cool with what we are doing.... Of course... you could ADD a page count option... wouldn't be that hard for people to document... and Excel would make it easy to calculate... if there is interest (and buy in from the participants!) I'll volunteer to do the page count calculations..... We could do both, very easily...... keeping everyone happy!
