Story time!

So, I went to our local Grotto today for noon Mass. As I was walking out I noticed a group of four or five Franciscan sisters eating lunch at a picnic table just outside the visitors center. I had seen one of the sisters there before, working in the gift shop, and had wanted to approach her ('cause that's what I do when I see nuns LOL), but didn't have the nerve. So I walked past the sisters, intending to go to my car, but decided at the last minute to slip in the doors near them into the visitor's center. Now, I had not intention of purchasing anything or even really looking around, as I'd been in there a million times. But I wandered around a bit, trying to get up my nerve to approach the sisters on the way out.

I managed to do it-- I approached the sisters, apologizing for interrupting their lunch, and asking what Order they were. Franciscans, of course. I had known that much, but I was really curious as to which "flavor" so to speak (you don't often see habited nuns in my area, to say the least). So I asked and they laughed at me (I guess "What flavor" is a funny way of asking what particular community they're a part of). I knew I had recognized their veil! Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist!

Anywho, I got to chatting with them and come to find out, they have a local community, teaching at a school and running a small retreat center!! And further more, the sister who works at the Grotto apparently goes to daily Mass at the parish that I work for!!!!

So, they gave me their number and enthusiastically encouraged me to come and visit sometime. I'm so pumped!! I've been going through "nun withdrawal", LOL!! But, in all seriousness, I'm really excited that they're nearby. It's comforting, for some reason. And to know that I'd be able to come visit them, pray with them. I guess it's just always encouraging for me to be around women who have given their lives to Jesus. There's something comforting in it.

Yay! God is good!

That is so great!!! I am entering pre-postulancy with them this fall!! They are super cool. :)

I'd rather it be Therese over... Gemma...
Um, pardon my curiosity, but what's with the face when it comes to Therese? Why does it seem like y'all don't like her very much?

I mailed off my Visa application today. The whole nine yards. Passports (past and present), various Visa forms and the Appendix, the Biometric details confirmation, etc.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I think I checked everything as one that has OCD would.

Aaand now it's completely out of my hands. Literally.

I'm somewhat relieved, but have a new infestation of butterflies in my tummy.

:bigpray:

In other news, I met with my pastor last Tuesday to ask for help in regards to my dowry. He suggested I write a little blurb or letter for the bulletin and get it to him before the next morning -- and I did. This past weekend he placed the letter in the bulletin asking for spiritual and financial help, especially towards my dowry. Today I went to my mailbox and received two checks and promised prayers -- one for $20, the other for $200. My jaw dropped.

Furthermore, there was additional jaw-dropping on the Feast of St. Ignatius Loyola. :shield:  Well, this goes BEYOND jaw-dropping. It's more like... I don't even have the words for it. Shock. Joy. Tears. More shock. Heck, I'm STILL shocked! I received an anonymous promised pledge to cover the entirety of my dowry!!! (!!!1!one11!!1eleventyone!!1!)

Yep.. I said ENTIRETY.

Did I say I was shocked?

S-H-O-C-K-E-D SHOCKED.

:bigshock:

Someone needs to do this to me: :bash:

God is so crazy.

He's even giving me this "extra" fundage to go towards the "Postulant Supplies List". :sadder:

I'm just shocked, I tell you.

Shocked. :stretcher:

I ask your prayers for those that have so generously given to my vocational plight and to those that continue to give. May God bless them abundantly. I think only in heaven will it be possible for them to my the extent of my gratitude. And shock.

Like I said earlier: when it rains, it POURS. :rain: I guess God got tired of my "cold feet" and fretting. Or maybe St. Joseph got tired of my yapping. :hehehe:

Well, to put it mildly, she's been "stalking" vee8. Where ever she goes, a statue, or a picture, or a book of Sain Therese is there. Hence the playful. <_< "it's you again."

but it's done in total jest. She is my confirmation saint, so she's already won me over. I just think that it's funny that I went to a Spanish-Franciscan mission in So. CA and she was there. She was actually the first saint I saw there, go figure.

Yes exactly! Oh and hiding or dropping novenas too. I also sent Teresita a pm with the longer more boring version of the story

Sorry, those ones were really zoomed in, so they're kinda blurry, and the pics are a lot bigger on the screen than I expected.

And the Elderberry tree...

Sorry, I was having a random moment. But really, check out the pics online. They got kinda jumbled in the uploading process, though, I'm not sure how... :idontknow:
