I mailed off my Visa application today. The whole nine yards. Passports (past and present), various Visa forms and the Appendix, the Biometric details confirmation, etc.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

I think I checked everything as one that has OCD would.

Aaand now it's completely out of my hands. Literally.
So now you have lots of time to alphabetize the soup cans! :hehe:
Today I went to my mailbox and received two checks and promised prayers -- one for $20, the other for $200. My jaw dropped.

Furthermore, there was additional jaw-dropping on the Feast of St. Ignatius Loyola. Well, this goes BEYOND jaw-dropping. It's more like... I don't even have the words for it. Shock. Joy. Tears. More shock. Heck, I'm STILL shocked! I received an anonymous promised pledge to cover the entirety of my dowry!!! (!!!1!one11!!1eleventyone!!1!)

Yep.. I said ENTIRETY.
WOW presents from Ignatius!!! :yahoo: :woot:
Someone needs to do this to me:
ok :bash:
He's even giving me this "extra" fundage to go towards the "Postulant Supplies List".

I'm just shocked, I tell you.

Shocked.

I ask your prayers for those that have so generously given to my vocational plight and to those that continue to give. May God bless them abundantly. I think only in heaven will it be possible for them to my the extent of my gratitude. And shock.

Like I said earlier: when it rains, it POURS. I guess God got tired of my "cold feet" and fretting. Or maybe St. Joseph got tired of my yapping.
More :yahoo: :yahoo: and prayers for you and those who helped!!! Joseph is amazing isnt he :D

Praise God!!!

I just received in the mail today two checks, totaling $1,000 to go toward my student loans!! One was from an anonymous (well, I have his name because it's on the check, clearly, but he doesn't wish for me to write a thank you letter or the like) donor through connections at my school and one was from a newly ordained priest friend of mine. I was expecting the first (I got an e-mail about it from the Pres.'s office), but definitely not the second one!!! God is so good!!!

People are so generous!!

On a slightly different note-- a friend from high school (one year my elder) has asked if I'd be her sponsor for adult confirmation!! I was totally caught off-guard by that one!! I'm so excited that she's taking this step!! She was never really involved in her faith and was somewhat fallen away during high school. I remember a few conversations during the summers while we were in college (we both just graduated this year) where we talked about the faith and I remember a genuine interest on her behalf. Yay!!

So God is good (all the time).

And I start work one week from today!!

:yahoo: and :yahoo: for you too!! What can I say God is amazing isnt He!

Story time!

So, I went to our local Grotto today for noon Mass. As I was walking out I noticed a group of four or five Franciscan sisters eating lunch at a picnic table just outside the visitors center. I had seen one of the sisters there before, working in the gift shop, and had wanted to approach her ('cause that's what I do when I see nuns LOL), but didn't have the nerve. So I walked past the sisters, intending to go to my car, but decided at the last minute to slip in the doors near them into the visitor's center. Now, I had not intention of purchasing anything or even really looking around, as I'd been in there a million times. But I wandered around a bit, trying to get up my nerve to approach the sisters on the way out.

I managed to do it-- I approached the sisters, apologizing for interrupting their lunch, and asking what Order they were. Franciscans, of course. I had known that much, but I was really curious as to which "flavor" so to speak (you don't often see habited nuns in my area, to say the least). So I asked and they laughed at me (I guess "What flavor" is a funny way of asking what particular community they're a part of). I knew I had recognized their veil! Franciscan Sisters of the Eucharist!

Anywho, I got to chatting with them and come to find out, they have a local community, teaching at a school and running a small retreat center!! And further more, the sister who works at the Grotto apparently goes to daily Mass at the parish that I work for!!!!

So, they gave me their number and enthusiastically encouraged me to come and visit sometime. I'm so pumped!! I've been going through "nun withdrawal", LOL!! But, in all seriousness, I'm really excited that they're nearby. It's comforting, for some reason. And to know that I'd be able to come visit them, pray with them. I guess it's just always encouraging for me to be around women who have given their lives to Jesus. There's something comforting in it.

Yay! God is good!

I know, right?! Well, as they say, habits are sacramentals and possess an innate goodness. So I think that, combined with the awesomeness of sisters, draws us.

And I was totally gonna just keep walking past and not say anything. I'm so glad I did!!

Great story! It seems like your angel had special instructions to not let you leave until you talked to the Sisters

I wonder if they smell worse than ginkgo trees which are THE worst smelling trees IMO.

Maybe St. Ignatius is trying to make up to you for not being able to be a Jesuit. Personally, I think it's time you to have a talk with St. Thomas Aquinas and St. Dominic. For all the loyalty you are showing them, they should be coming through with some money!

Maybe it's just that St. Joseph and St. Ignatius are more practical, while the other two are so busy writing and praying the Rosary that they forget about basic stuff.

We may have to replace some of the paintings in the PPC......

Did you run up to brother tree, give it a hug then sing a song of praise about God and trees????
:hehe: sorry but you're leaving soon :sadder: so I have like a month to get in all the Franciscan jokes!

Guess who was there? Well since I associate this <_< with St Therese I'm guessing her, well a statue of her. If you saw a vision of her tell her I said hi
