dominicansoul Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 another question... why were some occupiers chanting over and over "you can have sex with animals?"
dominicansoul Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 my thoughts on the whole debacle? the politicians who created the regulations that wall street follows should be forced to occupy wallstreet and sit in their own filth for days and days and days...
Jesus_lol Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011
I think the protesters knew that if they did just the right things that this would happen. Its like they want police brutality so the public will take notice.
how screwed up is this thought process?
Maximilianus Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 There are two videos going around online, one shows the cops beating protesters, the other is the unedited version showing the protesters counting down and then assaulting the cops in mass, so the idea is not far fetched and inciting police violence is a known tactic by agitators.
Exactly my point. They want to get seen, and they're doing a great job of it. I'm not saying I agree with them. Sure, I'd love to see some fat cats toppled as much as anyone else. Good times. But is it just to demand it? I don't know for sure. I'm just not involved enough to be able to say one way or another.
KnightofChrist Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011
Before Occupy Wall Street the Media and Liberals thought the Tea Party was just a bunch of old white right extremist bigots. Now the Tea Party is now being seen in a good light as it is compared to the Occupy crowd. And the President, Democrat Party and the Media have all endorsed the Occupy Crowd which is far more extreme than most imagined about the Tea Party. That's funny. When did the Tea Party take a dump on a Cop Car? Or on a burning American Flag?
fixed...
Clare~Therese Posted October 12, 2011 Posted October 12, 2011 (edited) It's so complicated! Edited to add: It's by where I live now kind of. They were talking about it on the local news, and the news reporters said that the protesters said they were prepared to keep protesting for a week at least. Edited October 12, 2011 by Clare~Therese

kamiller42 Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 This promotion poster summarizes how I see the protesters. I wonder how many of these anti-subsidy protesters are getting subsidized with Pell Grants or pay zero in income taxes.
Jesus_lol Posted October 13, 2011 Posted October 13, 2011 If anyone is abusing capitalism, it is the firms at Wall Street.
I'll find it interesting when he or she gets sick and misses work, can't pay his or her rent because of her hospital bill is so high (the just above minimum wage job doesn't include health insurance). I'll find it interesting when his or her home is destroyed by a hurricane and insurance doesn't cover living expenses while he or she still has to cover mortgage payments. People can be so sanctimonious when their situation is fine. I used to be that person - I made responsible decisions, worked hard, earned scholarships, saved my money, and thought I was somehow responsible for my situation. Everything is a gift from God - even our good decisions.

I've worked my butt off for scholarships and assistantships. I finally had to take out loans, but I'm all too accutely aware I'm one unforseen circumstance away from financial ruin. Personally, here's what I think: If people want to waste their time "occupying" wall street, then so be it. I've got more...interesting (for lack of a better word) things to do... So people are against the abuse of Capitalism, razzle dazzle. But is "occupying" wall street going to help solve the problem? What will solve the problem? Good, solid, and honest political and economic leaders. A leader such as that would be worth much more and do much more good than any number of "occupiers" could do in any number of "occupations". Other than that, I have a bunch of major tests tomorrow, and an SAT on Saturday...
