there is some language in this video, but as others are linking to pictures and videos against the protests that contain bad language, this should be ok to post in response.

this is from a canadian site (CBC news, public owned network) so i dunno if you guys can see it, but here is Chris Hedges (pulitzer prize winner) being interviewed on the Occupy Wall Street protests. He gets attacked by O Leary, shamefully, but sticks to issues well and stands up for himself and what he is saying.

on another note, there are alot of canadians that are very dissapointed in the news reporter doing the "interviewing"

edit: here it is on youtube for everyone

The school paper did their Occupy IUP story today. I would think they were in the employ of Rupert Murdoch. I've never seen someone who supported a cause make it appear to be so wretched. Pics were all dirty hippie types, the people they quoted weren't anyone with a degree in attendance, but all Freshmen with undeclared majors in things like fine arts who were pontificating the need to educate the public.

I don't get ANY of this.

it seems to me like a problem with so many causes, so many facets and sides, and it's being way oversimplified by just about everybody as either: the dirty hippies are hoisting their individual responsibility on big corporations OR big government and/or corporations have screwed us all over and should be stopped.

Holy poo balls I am sick of all of this distortion and oversimplifying dang.

I need a flowchart or something

Hippies always have problems and are foisting them off, but i would like to see anyone make an argument that the corporations in question have been a force of good in the past decade and more.

many people disagree with their methods at Occupy Wall Street, but really unless you belong to the top 1% of america, the executives of these banks and multinationals, etc, you shouldnt be saying that these protests are baseless.

I don't know if this is connected to the "Occupy Chicago" part of the protests, but there are some elderly getting in on the act:

Before Occupy Wall Street the Media and Liberals the Tea Party was just a bunch of old white right extremist bigots. Now the Tea Party is now being in a good light as it is compared to the Occupy crowd. And the President, Democrat Party and the Media have all endorsed the Occupy Crowd which is far more extreme than most imagined the Tea Party. That's funny. When did the Tea Party take a dump on a Cop Car? Or on a burning American Flag?

I suspect that the people going out to Occupy Wallstreet won't want to be universally united on any front except in their demand to reduce the power of corporations. This whole thing was explicitly meant to be chaotic and shocking. It's very easy to ignore people walking in circles with signs. (See every Pro-Life march ever, which are always far bigger than these OW things) It's much harder to ignore people who are on the verge of riot, rankling police, harassing the wealthy, and parking their carcasses on every doorstep, sidewalk, and curbstone on main street.

I think that's actually a primary goal here: this isn't about having a peaceful, ignorable protest, but a somewhat less peaceful, obnoxious, in-your-face, HEY YOU STUPID JACK*** LISTEN TO ME! kind of protest.
