About the sleeves I think MissScripture said she found out from her sister who is a Nashie that the tighter fitting sleeves are actual only half sleeves. So I could see how those would get messed up.

BTW about the chapel veil. The best solution I have found it to pull my hair back and then use 2 french pins, one on each side, to pin my veil to my hair. My mantilla stays on for the whole mass without slipping when I do this.

OPs WIN END OF STORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :) (How many Franciscans can say they are living exactly like the Franciscans over eight hundred years ago lived?) (Okay maybe that's not such a good argument because they were founded at about the same time but Dominicans still are amesome because the first Dominicans were Nuns not Friars!!!!!! :woot: )

Trying to convince someone that Carmelites or O.P.'s are better than Franciscans is like trying to swim with a boulder tied to your feet. :P

No, but I've had to swim with a jumper and a t-shirt on.

Have YOU ever tried swimming in a habit?

My O.P.s could totally do it.

I asked a sister about it once. She didn't recommend going in above your waist unless you wanted to die. lol

Meh, I can't keep everyone's genders straight (especially if I don't know them in the first place). :bike:
DC was merely using correct grammar in that she used the masculine when she didn't know the gender. Of course, as a poor Franciscan you may not be as educated as the Dominicans so I can't blame you for not knowing that. :P

Did you not read my parenthetical statement? I realized that was a bad argument but the OPs still win because before Dominic founded the Friars he founded the Nuns!! Also he always made sure that when there was a new house for friars that there was a new monastery for Nuns as well.

I don't understand how that makes them better. Founding Nuns before Friars doesn't make a difference.
