This thread reminds me about something I once read (was it in A Right to be Merry?): "women can get vain over sackcloth" :hehe: :ninja: ;)

Love and prayers,

DiscerningSoul

My step-niece SHAVED her head to raise money for something that at the moment I can't remember. She said it was fun and she got to wear baseball caps in school. LOL :D:
Oh btw she was about 10 or so!!!

Also, so the hair is cut, offer up your feelings about this issue to God for the salvation of souls! :saint:

To tell you the truth, she didn't do anything to the roots while the grey was growing out. She kept saying during that whole year (and probably the year I was at OLAM, too) that she couldn't wait for the grey to be grown out more. She now has grey hair and her natural color, but the roots are the same color as the ends now... to me it really looks beautiful! She started growing it out in reparation for the sins of the world, and it was very difficult for her (she has a LOT of VERY beautiful hair... everyone compliments her hair). It was hard for her but I think she's really glad she did it because now she doesn't have to worry about having it dyed anymore. With so much hair, it was a big hassle for her to dye it (and when she had it dyed at home, it was yours truly doing it! Sometimes highlighting it too!) lol, we had fun, but we're both glad she let it "go grey" ^_^
I'm hoping that it won't look too horrid as it grows out. . . But I'm so tired of dyeing it. . .. Here's to hoping that I don't chicken out!

As novices!

(I had the privilege of meeting the novice class. They look SO much different in their veils than in the pictures without!)
