I'd have to think that intent has at least something to do with it. Would you agree?

My husband always kisses me when he drops me off at church for a meeting (he doesn't let me walk the 3 blocks by myself because I have a habit of confronting drug dealers and Johns), but I can't imagine how a peck on the check or forehead or even lips between a middle-aged couple would arouse anyone.

I doubt anyone is scandalized by seeing us holding hands walking down the street, but we also hold hands at church during mass. We tend to constantly touch each other. Both of us have suffered years of limited human touch, so I guess touch is reassuring to both of us. He also has the habit of reaching out if he thinks I'm unsteady on my feet. We did get caught kissing in the church kitchen once. Nothing dramatic, just enough for teasing purposes.
