Say a girl walks around very immodestly dressed (I don't want to give any details because some guys are very visual creatures). Her intention may just be to look "cute" or "just to have fun". While her intention may not be to cause arousal, it's more than likely that men are going to find her style of dress very arousing. I could say the same thing applies to this type of dancing. It may be the intention of the dancer to just have fun and not arouse their dance partner. But from the majority of guys I know, such dancing is going to cause sexual arousal. Having a good intention doesn't make an act okay, read Veritatis Splendor for further explanation.
i would say also that since guys are visual creatures, that a girl and someone else doing this could arouse someone watching them dance.

That's a good point, and I was keeping it in mind, but I was kind of trying to get around that in a way in equating grinding to masturbation, because part of the gravity of masturbation is in the intent. I'd have to think that intent has at least something to do with it. Would you agree?

I agree. Seeing something like that can be very very bad.

Making people aroused by our public displays of affection is something I haven't really put much thought to. My husband always kisses me when he drops me off at church for a meeting (he doesn't let me walk the 3 blocks by myself because I have a habit of confronting drug dealers and Johns), but I can't imagine how a peck on the check or forehead or even lips between a middle-aged couple would arouse anyone.

Kissing isn't really in the same universe as most other "PDAs."

I know, but I wonder what is the dividing line. I doubt anyone is scandalized by seeing us holding hands walking down the street, but we also hold hands at church during mass. We tend to constantly touch each other. Both of us have suffered years of limited human touch, so I guess touch is reassuring to both of us. He also has the habit of reaching out if he thinks I'm unsteady on my feet. We did get caught kissing in the church kitchen once. Nothing dramatic, just enough for teasing purposes.

That one young man (the one on the far right), his hand is drifting awful close to that young lady's rear end.

See, now I just assumed that they had just finished dancing and the camera caught him releasing the girl from their proper dance posture.

I agree with this. He doesn't look like he's actually touching her.

That just means he's being smart about it...

And the bespectacled fella in the foreground on the left looks like he's trying to keep his partner from becoming a Gropin' Gertie (she's already an Agressive Aggie, it appears)!
