AnneLine Posted December 24, 2013 Author Posted December 24, 2013 (edited) Sure, you can move Pope Bene's book up in the line and give him Challenge status. Are you saying that his book on tape is 400 pages, or St. Faustina's diary (I know that one is HUGE!) Blessed Christmas to all of you... trying to get both the Francis and Blinded finished by Midnight on Christmas... we will see..... Spent 2 hours reading while I stood in line for focaccia this morning.... much to the jealous amusement of my fellow standees..... :) :bible: http://slice.seriouseats.com/archives/2011/06/daily-slice-pizza-focaccia-at-liguria-bakery-san-francisco.html Edited December 24, 2013 by AnneLine
TheresaThoma Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 The benedict book is actually 389 pages. I'm not sure if I will get it done by tonight but I'm trying!
TheresaThoma Posted December 24, 2013 Posted December 24, 2013 Ok as a fun break I read Little Known facts about well known places (199 pages). Fun and quick read!
Deus te Amat Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) For Christmas, my parents sent me an embosser that stamps "Library of Deus_te_Amat" onto paper. Good thing they also sent me several large rectangular bundles of paper to practice on. Edited December 25, 2013 by Deus_te_Amat
Anastasia13 Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Cooking teddy was so cute! Tony, Tony, come around. Books have been lost but must be found.
AnneLine Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 Merry Christmas to all! Yes, you CAN count books on tape! Just find the book that was recorded on Amazon and count the pages! :) Obviously, if it is a summary of the book (some audio editions are like that) you need to give a more-or-less realistic count.... Still 22 hours to read for my part of the world! But first... SLEEP!!!!!
AnneLine Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 Well... now down to 21 hours, and I am wide awake. Sigh. I think a snack, a little reading, a prayer for all of you, and then I will sleep. May the Virgin and her loving Child bless you!
Comingback Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Stayed up after Mass (went to the early one) and re-red A Right to be Merry by Mother Mary Francis. I love this book and it was just the right thing for Christmas. 229 pages.
cartermia Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) finished my challenge book Rise Let Us be On Our Way JPII - 240*2=480 pages!!! I am getting the House of Brede (my new challenge book) in less than 2 hours!!! :dance4: :dance5: :dance3:  :dance2: :dance5: Edited December 25, 2013 by cartermia

Will do a count just after midnight here in California... we may need to adjust it for anyone celebrating later... you have till Midnight your time to get in your Christmas mini-challenge reading numbers.... Go for it, Carter!!!!!
AnneLine Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) Oh... and got a bit sidetracked... keep meaning to document that I re-read Edwardian Farm -- 288 pages! That and the videos are.... BRILLIANT!!!!! Edited December 25, 2013 by AnneLine
Deus te Amat Posted December 25, 2013 Posted December 25, 2013 Why isn't this going through Epiphany? Christmas lasts for 12 days after all.
AnneLine Posted December 25, 2013 Author Posted December 25, 2013 (edited) Well.... hey, I'm flexible... but I wanna push us, too! We are easily within 20,000 to 25,000 for midnight on Christmas.... and I'd love to see 30,000 or 35,000 by Epiphany, myself! Maybe 32,014 for New Year's? Huh? What do you all think? Can we DO IT???? A special gift for Mary, Mother of God? Edited December 25, 2013 by AnneLine
TheresaThoma Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Well right now we are sitting at just over 25,000 (by my count we will have to wait for the llama's monkeys to make the official count) I think that we could easily hit 30,000 by Epiphany and 32014 for New Years!!!
TheresaThoma Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 And to add to the count Rome Sweet Home 198 pages!
Comingback Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Well, here I am cross-eyed to add Enduring Grace: Living Portraits of Seven Women Mystics by Carol Flinders, 276 pages. Really enjoyed it, though. She used quite a lot of primary sources and made me want to (at some future time) actually read Clare, Mechtild,Julian, the Catherines (of Siena and Genoa), Teresa of Avila, and Therese Little Flower.
AnneLine Posted December 26, 2013 Author Posted December 26, 2013 seeee... mini goals work!!!! :) :bible: Yes, we can do this. Do you think... might we be able to do something crazy like 100,000 by Candlemas? Can we? It's wild, but could we try????
Deus te Amat Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 I'll have to take some vacation time....
Deus te Amat Posted December 26, 2013 Posted December 26, 2013 Also -- all of the books in my apartment have been embossed. Must get more.
