Pro-life Awkwardness
by ToJesusMyHeart- 14 replies

Just wanted to share some awkwardness going on in my life currently. I'm in the application process right now and one of the things we need to do is get a "letter of reference" from a "professional associate." I decided to ask a former professor of mine, whom I also worked with in tutoring his students. I emailed him, asking if he would mind writing the letter for me and he agreed, stating (he says he is freaking out because I told him "Now, don't freak out, but I'm applying to enter a convent!") : "Great!", I thought to myself. Then, today I got another email from him, saying: OH NO. :sos: Anyway, the main purpose of this thread is to see if yo…

From any reputable source. Anyone got references? Even the smallest reference in an autobiography, Vatican document, Catholic book, order/house website, etc., will do!

Following St Francis As A Capuchin
by cappie- 5 replies
As Capuchin Franciscan Friars we are called to live following the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the footsteps of St Francis of Assisi. St Francis went through a period of discernment after he heard Christ call him to 'Go rebuild my Church...' Discernment can be described as a process of spiritual exploration - a time in which a man or woman acknowledges God's call to serve Him in a particular vocation. If you are inspired by St. Francis and his example, then you may have a vocation to the Capuchin Franciscans. A person who is interested in becoming a Capuchin Franciscan remains in contact with the Vocation Director. The Director helps him discern his call through visits…

Daughters Of Charity: Online Vocational Discernment Retreat
by Kayte Postle- 3 replies
The Daughters of Charity are having an online vocational discernment retreat coming up, from June 23-27. All the info is copied from the email they sent me. I also talked to Sr Theresa, and said she that on the retreat you commit to praying for 30mins each day over reflections that they send you. Thought some of you might enjoy this, since it works great with busy schedules and as far as I know it's free! If anyone wants me to forward them the email message me and I'll be happy to pass it along.

Society Of The Body Of Christ 1 2

Has anybody seen the video of Sister Anne Sophie or her website? Is this a "real " community in communion with Rome? I think she is in Texas. I found her video on Vimeo. She is asking for funds for monastic stalls, but I don't see any other Sisters/Nuns. I hope someone can help me. Someone I am seeing for Spiritual Direction seems to be very interested, but she has not heard back and I'm not quite sure if this community is in communion with Rome, though her website does have a picture of clergy on her site. Yes, I have urged her to contact the Sisters of Life. Thanks.

I am copying with permission my latest email from Faith which was received today! She is doing well as you will read and is very happy! Its been too long again! I hope you are well? All is good here, though the novitiate is down to 3 (from 5), but Sr Maria made her Simple Profession the other week which was lovely! We also now have 21 rescued hedgehogs, including 2 elderly, blind ones - video on our website. My asthma is still pretty dreadful, but otherwise life here is going really, really well and I am extremely happy. I am feeling more and more settled and comfortable, and am beginning to be able to give myself more fully to God in the life I believe h…
